i've had them on my wrangler and now my taco... i like em.

i had to send one back because it wouldn't balance straight from the factory... i think other people have similar issues with duratracs not balancing. i've had about 1,500 miles on them now and them and i don't have any vibration on a regular basis.

Tires should be purpose selected, with weight as a considering factor between brand choices, and looks as a tertiary consideration.

If the function of the tire fits 80% of how you use the vehicle, is one of the lighter choices in it's size, and you like the looks, go for it!

Did you consider up sizing to 265/75/R16 in load c? The reason I ask is I was wondering myself if there is a big benefit to going to load c?

I am looking at the 265/70R17 because I did poor research and bought pro comp 17 x 9 rims. Need the wider tire

Would I be able to run a 285 on 17 inch rim?

With a 3 inch lift would the 285 rub?

Yes but chances it will rub depending on the offset of the wheels. Removing mud flaps, removing fender liner, cab mount chop and etc.

I'll be the dissenting opinion. The only good thing about the Duratracs was how long they lasted on my work truck. Everything else was either marginal (wet and dry off-road and pavement traction) or terrible (handling, ride comfort, noise, wet pavement traction). BFG KOs were even worse.

886 old man emu coils and nitro shocks, lift blocks out back with 5100's, Buck stop bumper & skids with Mile Marker 8K winch, Locked rear diff, 285/75/17 Dura Tracs.
I'm running 285/75/17 on American racing wheels 4" offset OME 886 with nitro shocks and shim on drivers side, 8K winch and plate bumper, bushwacker fender flares no rubbing here, even when stuffed up in the wheel well.

The same shit everyone else has.
My Duratracs have served me well on my truck. Theyve been on my truck for 2 years/25k miles now and they still have about 1/2 their tread left. The Duratracs on my old ladys JK have done their job well as well. (A lot less mileage though, but they are wearing well.)

I plan sticking with them on both vehicles.
