Picked up a 2017 DCSB OR 6MT with tow, mats, sills, wheel locks for $1,200 under MSRP. Not that great but seems like Seattle area dealers weren't coming down much off the price.

I'll start by saying this is my first adventure into any new truck purchase and 4x4 at that. I found a 2017 DCSB sport w/ 6 speed man-trans and only option is tow package. MSRP/Sticker is 34665 they gave me an internet quote of $32370, I called and spoke to the new car manager and was given $34285 for an OTD price. is this any sort of a deal or should I hold out ?

    thanks Joe

Trying to find a sweet deal on these things can be tiresome. The best I have so far is:

2017 TRD OR DCSB 4x4 AT
    Inferno with black/orange interior
Performance & Tech package with JBL
    Tow Package
    Predator Tube Steps
    Tonneau Cover

This configuration comes out to $36,500 w/o taxes and a $600 fee. Unsure if I should bite..

Tax/tags on the street for $34.2k? That sounds pretty good to me. I paid a bit over $36k for the same basic truck except TRD OR with towing, roof rack, sills, mats and mud flaps. Using a kentucky windage approximation that makes your deal about $1k better than mine if it has you driving away for that figure.

as far as "actual invoice" I'm not % sure what it is. I just got home from a test drive and I will say I was pretty impressed with how it drove/handled but most importantly how comfortable and quiet it was, the clutch engages very high in the pedal but that I can get use to. Here is a break down of what I left with:

Price/MSRP/Sticker: $34665-inc destination fee I built the exact truck on Toyota.com and this is what is showed as well.
    "savings" $2994.80
    sales tax $2234.01
    registration $101
    title $95
    doc fee $169.27
    electronic fee $25
    TOTAL OTD $34344.48

Ya, almost 3k, off 34 is nice, I got like 2500 off 35,800 and that put me about 250 over invoice, so I would bet you went under invoice by almost a grand.

To check invoice use NADAdotCOM or there is a thread in 3rd gen stickies

Just bought mine last week. TRDOR 4x4 DCSB AT. Tech Package. carpet floormats. with the paint protection. black interior with inferno accents and the inferno trim on the dash.

36200 out the door. Trade in took that down to 35500. I loved my old beater pathfinder but between the 200k+ miles and the rear main seal leak and the long list of other minor annoyances, it was time for her to go. could have probably gotten 1000 for the pathfinder on craigslist but didnt think it would be worth the hassle.

Thanks for the info on nada dot com it shows invoice $32161 and I did come across the other thread and it looks like dealer "cost" at $30364. I'm not cheap but frugal so like us all I want the best deal possible.

This is the first time I've really researched invoice pricing etc. In the past I always thought the "Internet quote" was pretty much the best deal. thanks aga in for your input it's greatly appreciated ! !

For those who purchased their Tacoma long distance from where you are located, do you have any regrets not purchasing local? I can save $2-3k by buying 3 hours away, but my local dealers offer incentives such as free oil, state inspection, etc for the life of the vehicle.

How many oil changes and state inspections will it take to add up to the 2-3k minus your 6 hours of time traveling?
