@tcBob - Here is some information that should be part of your conversation today with @mahaloTaco:

@mahaloTaco acts as a "retailer" of this product and buys in lots of 50 and his margin is greater than ~40% which calculates to a profit of upwards of $7,000 per lot of 50 snorkels. Not sure if this includes customs duties and fees.

He saw that the second GB seemed to take off and gain momentum after 50 paid TW members jumped to 60 in a relatively short period of time. So he got greedy and ordered a lot of 50 more for a total of 100 units, thinking the GB would hit the 100 PAID UP mark before the sea cargo shipment would arrive at the mainland.

Well the shipment did arrive, but he didn't hit the 100 mark, and therefore cannot get the product out of the port of entry. (1) because he didn't have the full amount for the 100 units and (2) that he didn't have enough to cover customs duties and fees.

Also look closely at his 1st GB for the same product. He screwed up and spent some of the GB money before the shipment arrived. Once arrived, he had to hustle and find the money to pay customs duties/fees. Then he hand delivered to as many people in SoCal as possible vs shipping out by commercial carrier such as UPS. Likely not to improve his margin, but because he fucking spent all the damn GB money. In the end though, he ended up with a pretty penny on the first GB and if you track his various social media outlets, immediately after his 50 snorkels were in the hands of there owners, he bumped up his expensive Tacoma Mod habit to the tune of new fiberglass front and rear fenders and a high dollar URD S/C and various other cool stuff.

NOT bad for a kid that barely can hold a job. Oops sorry, he does have a Surf Shop job.
