Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

Currently have bilstein 5100's on 2.5" setting (1/4 spacer driver side) with 2" rear block on my 4 door prerunner. Tires are 285/70/17, I'm happy with the height, but NOT the quality of the ride. Too jarring and wanders above 60mph. Assuming the only way to fix this would be different coils (885?) and UCA. I am not trying to get into all that as it gets expensive. Does anyone know of a way to keep my height at 2.5" while getting a better quality ride and keeping stock UCA's, or do I need to get spindles and set my 5100's at 0?

Well if you got Maxtracs that would put you at 4" & then you could put your billies on 0, then you'd basically be lifted but back to the factory geometry & a better ride with the 5100's. The spindles lift but don't change the suspension geometry. Also with the spindles you gain a little more clearance for those 285's.
The Maxtrac 4" kit come with 2" blocks so you're halfway there with your blocks & all you'd need is the spindles. You'd be sitting pretty close to level. Maybe a tad low in the rear.

 

That's what I was thinking. Can I add a 1.5 AAL on top of the 2" block to have a rake? I occasionally tow and don't want the nose high. Also how difficult is the install? Any tips?

You could add an aal no problem or forget the block/aal setup & get a set of Dakar's or All Pro standard leaf packs, get a better rid & 3" of lift but they cost quite a bit more. If you can afford it I'd go this route. They're better than stock & will increase your payload capacity.

Install is super easy, they come with detailed instructions & it's basically just switching the spindles & brake lines. You can take the 5100's to a shop & have them adjust them back down or rent the sketchy spring compressor from the parts store & do it yourself.

This is one we did with the 4/2 Maxtrac kit & 285's.

 

I think I may have watched a video of the install on that truck lol. So he has just a 2" lift in the rear? I looked up the all pro pack and its over $500.. So I'd probably rock the bro lean for a while before getting a full leaf pack plus extended rear shocks. Do I need any special tools to set the 5100 back to stock? ( I had them installed). Do I need a new snap ring? Leaning towards this lift.. Hopefully tires wont look too small I just got them lol

 

For affordability if you dont want the bro lean you can add the aal, they're fairly cheap. Then save for leaf packs in the future.

Chad, im sure you've said it before but what is the distance from the center of the hub to fender on the front?

 

What's the setup on that??

Correct that is with the stock struts & Maxtracs, so only 4". If I remember right we put Maxtrac shocks on the rear, that's what came in the kit. With 2" blocks it needs longer shocks.
