    Yeah! I'll give it a try and see how much it last in my case.. I don't turn on my headlights until I need them.. when its sunset I like to turn on my amber lights and the fog lights (in miami there's NO fog) but I like to use them and like how the truck looks..

    I got it. I didn't have a dremel or anything to trim that plastic tab inside the housing. popped out the trusty pocket knife, job done. I got the hella bulbs. so far I'm not very impressed but its still a little light out. ill wait until night to pass judgment.

    Hahaha this thing about if hid, led, h9 mod are brighter or not is totally personal... in my case I noticed a better output but you say that is not that much.. hahaha let us know what do you think of it when you test it at night..

    I did the mod about 2 weeks ago and I haven't tried them on a very dark area.. my commute is 99% highway.. and on weekends I use my wife's Prius c that have more mileage than my truck and is a champ on gas consumption so I don't know when I'm going to be able to enjoy the "brightness" of my new bulbs haha..

    Also, the Manufacturer gave a 2000 hrs of use on my h9. so maybe the new ones are getting more use

    I doubt your hellas will and neither will these bulbs. I wouldnt be surprised if on or more burned out but I have spares and they are bright and seem to work well so I am happy with the purchase. I will prob upgrade to different bulbs when one of these burns out.

    So you're saying that the only part of the bulb you modified was the actual plug? and not the flanges near the base of the bulb?

    This looks great! Did you have to re aim the lights at all?



    I am pretty much sold on this and going to order mine now, will post my results later. I'll try to do a H11/H9 Night comparison to see how far the and consistent the light is thrown/brightness contrast, unless someone else wants to post it up here. :infantry:

    True, just asking cause the spread is like 3x bigger than the H11 bulb didn't know if its sitting to high for the bulb. I like them and all, would just like to be aware if someone is catching a front seat to the light show. Thanks man.

    I have yet to be flashed from oncoming traffic, and when behind cars the cutoff is just below the top of their trunk. Stock height btw.

    H9s are not designed to control the beam pattern the way an H11 is, hence the high beam H9 bulbs do not have glare shield end caps like the low beam H11 as they are not intended for low beam use.

    In a halogen headlight assembly the light is controlled by not allowing it to escape directly out the front of the assembly without first reflecting off the back of the assembly to give precision control of the beam. On a high beam, it doesn't matter if light escapes directly out the front of the assembly uncontrolled, because your high beams are on so no-one must be in-front of you. Hence on an H9 high beam bulb there is no glare shield. On an H11 bulb there is a glare shield. Hence the connector being different so you don't put an H9 into an H11 housing. Yes you can modify it to make it fit anyway.

    This is the correct way to do it if you want to get more output out of your H11 halogen bulbs, providing a measured 2x improvement over stock:
