I was wanting to mount a CB radio antenna and I don't want my antenna on my hood and I can't put it in my bed because i have a tonneau cover. Has anyone ever mounted a CB antenna in between the cab and the bed in that little crack??? I think it would be very cool there

Why don't you mount it near the taillight with the mount from c4 fab

EDIT: I would just wait until they release the SS version.. that's what I'm doing

And you might have to worry about the antenna bouncing around hitting the back of the cab/window

^ This. Any movement of the truck, including daily driving will cause the antenna to wobble around. It will hit your window. You'll have possible paint damage from the constant rubbing or damage to the sheathing on the antenna itself. Either way it's a bad idea.

Mine is mounted really close to that. I drilled a hole in the bed right up against the bed rail. So 2" farther back from you location. Then used a stress ball slid over it to dampen noise.

I can tell you one thing about mounting that way. It doesn't work. Either because the vertical plane of the b pillar or the pack rack right behind it.

I've been meaning to post in the cb thread for help but haven't gotten around to it.

If you did go that way, there is a nice bracket right there you can use and not have to drill holes.

Put the antenna where it's most effective and efficient.

If you're buying a CB antenna for looks..

I'd suggest the tailgate mount option perhaps?
    http://www.bayareametalfab.com/2nd-Gen-CB-Mount_p_16.html

Keep "Ground Plane" in mind. The more metal surface, ideally flat and perpendicular to the direction of the antenna, the better.

So, hood mount or roof mount are the most ideal.

All he would have to do it poke a hole in a tennis ball and slide it on the aerial to where it would protect the paint and Duct Tape it in that position...
