for the front lift ive pretty much decided on new spindles/uca's, and for the rear, i want a 3 to 4 inch lift to match the front end's 4 inch lift. ive been looking at leaf packs for the rear and the deavers are really expensive for 1.5" of lift, so im wondering if there are AAL's that are 3" to 4" or if there are leaf packs that are that big, because i dont feel like shelling out 700 for a 1.5" lift

i dont think any "add a leaf" alone would give you that much, you could probly go with with longer shackles plus an an aal though.

Armor Tech makes a shackle flip kit, with the shackle flip kit you can gain lift with longer shackles.

remember your rear to front height ratio is about 1.5 to 1...

if you lift the front 3 inches, you lift the rear about 1.5" to 1.75" to sit level...

if you lift the rear 3", you will want to couple that with a 5" front lift...

there have been a few here and on the other tacoma forums who bought 3" rear lifts and ended up looking like dragsters...

as for the Deavers, its not so much the height you are paying so much for... its the performance, so if looking to lift the truck for cosmetics sake, then stick to an AAL...

    just re-read your original post...

if lifting the front 4" with a spindle lift, you can do a Deaver 8 leaf pack with custom 8 inch shackles to level out... would give you extra travel and better articulation in rear...

    thx that helps a lot
yeah i knew the rear was already higher but i didnt know it was a ratio... so if i get spindles i'd just need 2" in the rear, that simplifies things a lot for me. and no i dont want a dragster:eek:. and i understand what you mean, you do get what you pay for, because i dont want just cosmetics.

and that sounds like a good setup too, kind of what im looking for. i just talked to a guy today who referred me to a guy who does custom offroad stuff for trucks and told me that he could long travel my truck for 2600 w/o shocks

Longer shackels on a Second gen will lower the truck.

i met this guy at the mountain parking lot in big bear who had a really similar truck to mine, just he had already done a lot of mods to it, so we got to talking and i was telling him about what i wanted to do for my suspension and he told me about this guy who was building him a offroad bumper. he told me to contact the guy through myspace.com/builtbyross (so i checked it out and thats his compnaies name - built by ross, BBR)

im gonna shoot you a pm right now:)
