Hey guys, I am new to the forum. I sold my JK for the Tacoma and I'm looking to start making some mods. Any luck on finding a good limited slip or Detroit style locker for the 2016? Also, How are you guys liking the 3.5 with the 6 speed?

Personally, I like it. Totally different than my 2nd Gen, but it's a matter of learning the difference between how the tranny/engine reacts to throttle inputs. Adjusting driving style has helped, so for those who haven't had to adjust between the two may have second thoughts, but I have adjusted to the different driving habits and am happy with the way it acts.

I don't have a locker, but for what I need it serves it's purpose! You should clarify your usage. Mall crawler or rock climber?

I wouldn't put a full-time locker in your truck if you can avoid it, they are squirrely on pavement especially if you live somewhere where it rains/snows. I had one in my old Prerunner and it did it's job great off-road, but I had to be extra mindful of it while daily driving. Living in SoCal though it wasn't all that hard. But on a brand new truck especially, I'd want a selectable locker for sure. ARB is your best bet I'd say.

Thank you for the replies!! My first truck was a tacoma and it lasted forever. Hope this drivetrain withstands the test of time as well. I do live in a heavy snow area in north central Colorado. I slip goin up paved roads in 2wd. I just want that extra bit of bite so I don't have to constantly switch back and forth to 4 wheel drive. I had a G80 in my Suburban and loved it, but I could see it being squirrely in a light-ish truck.
