i'm glad to see it, because it's the same color i chose as a likely first choice, same 3M wrap. yeah, it looks good, not extreme or loud or any of that.

 

How many miles are you guys getting out of the factory clutch with the V6?

 

I don't think anyone with a turd gen has had a clutch replacement yet.

 

No I should hope not. I'm 2nd gen by the grace of God.

 

My 2010 has 100k miles with no issues other than the crickets from the TOB and I drive it like I stole it.

 

How long has your's chirped for? My new freaking clutch is already starting to chirp, I replaced the last one because of the chirping. Why can't Toyota figure out how to make a simple throwout bearing last in these trucks??

I've heard that bad things can happen if a TOB fails completely, but it seems like most people just deal with the chirping and nothing catastrophic ever happens.

 

It's been chirping for about 10k miles if not more. I rebuilt the clutch master cylinder and it didn't help much. The new longer spring actually puts more pressure on the TOB. I didnt think the TOB should be engaged all the time but I must be wrong.
I did carefully put some lube on her and it lasted a while but came back. I'm no expert so lube might not be a good idea.

I'm going to be wrapping mine with the matte brown, and blacking out the chrome same as you did. Seeing a picture of it done has verified to me that it will look awesome. Only difference is I'm wrapping it myself, so we'll see how that goes.

My 08 has 130k on the original clutch. TOB was replaced twice under warranty, and still squeaks like no tomorrow. I heard URD makes a fix for it. Never bothered.
