Was able to spend two hours today in a GMC Denali. $61,000

It had fully navigation, leather. Man it was NICE to be in a full size truck. The V8 pulls hard. It was the Z71. We drove it about 110 miles in LA today. The interior wasn't very GM like. The leather was gorgeous, the center armrest was nice. The navigation touch pad was great. The rear seat DVD players were amazing. Truck was fantastic. Very impressed with it.

I can imagine if the full size GMC is so good, that the ZR2 will be fantastic.

@bcrobbin - Not sure what QI is?

I agree you can't really tell what it's like from a photo, you have to sit in it & see how everything feels.

When I decided I was going to buy a Canyon I thought the same "I don't need no stinkin leather!" & was going to buy a SLE All-Terrain, which is a step down from the top line SLT. I hadn't seen either one in person so I went shopping & I ended up preferring the SLT's interior a lot more, just felt more "Classy" & less "cheap" to me. It has something they call "soft touch Interior", I'm not sure what it is, but to me has a nicer feel. I kind of wanted the All-Terrain, but in reality it's not really much of a off-road package, all it has is a little more aggressive tire, downhill decent control (I can use the brake pedal) & a transfercase skidplate....But you couldn't get heated mirrors in the A/T (which I wanted being in Canada), so ended up with the SLT, added a aftermarket skidplate & factory T/C plate and away I went.

One feature I really like is the ability to use the GM App to remote start the truck from virtually anywhere in the world (As long as you have cell service!

Like others here, sure I would be interested in the ZR2 when it arrives, I'm just not sure I could justify the premium attached to it.

Yeah, all the gadgets it had, made my LX570 feel poverty spec in comparison.
All I know was, it was VERY impressive.

I wouldn't be in my Taco PRO if I drove that before. I have never visited a Chevy/Ford/Dodge dealership in my life, and didn't have any reason to.

I thought Ford is going to bring the ranger back to North America for 2018? If you check out any Australia off-road website tons lots of people are using the Ranger with a diesel among other trucks. If the guys in the R and D for all manufacturers took the advice from TW forum they could build a kick ass truck.
No input from Homer or Ricky Bobby though !

Yes Sir, I'm not sure how many of you guys stateside are familiar with the Beaumonts, "Made in Canada" Muscle, very low production #'s compared to the Chevelle's. There's also the Acadian's that you might be interested in (Twin to the Nova).

    Thanks

Aparently GMC is going to be releasing the Denali Canyon pretty much anytime now... Heated steering wheel, wireless phone charger, not sure what else.

I think it may have to do with the fact that they are assembled in the U.S and Mexico. Quality control seems far lower than on the other toyotas I have owned.

Look at consumer reports reliability data. Toyota and lexus consistently have ranked #1 for the last decade.Reliability makes a difference 150,000 miles down the road.

I guess vinyl wrap kinda destroys this too now that I think about it...
uhhhh.... turn signal mirrors and intermittent wipers...
that's what really pulls the ladies anyways.

I'm interested in the ZR2 solely for the diesel option. Don't get me wrong, my 16 TRD OR 4x4 is a great truck and very capable offroad. However, I drive between 37-40k miles per year and sometimes more. The majority of these miles are highway or state roads but most of my work is located along high voltage power line right of ways so i'm offroad a lot and sometimes find myself in some precarious situations. I like the idea of the ZR2 having both front and rear lockers and being ready for the trail right off the lot. I'll probably buy one when they are released. Of course I'll be keeping my Taco so I should be able to have some great side by side comparisons.

I would look at the difference in maintenance cost (then multiply by 1.5 becuase GM)
Diesel maintenance is more expensive and so is the fuel.
So why not get an efficient car if you are going to keep one truck? Efficient truck as a second car doesn't make much sense at all to me.

They would both be work trucks. I would like efficiency for the long drives and offroad capability to get me to the job sites.
