Well pulled the trigger on 5 37x12.5x17 pit bull rockers today, they were having a 50% off sale so I just said screw it instead of continuing my search for decent used tires.

Still waiting for my crawlbox :(

    50% off? Damn, that's a great deal.

Those tires run small though. That might not be a big issue for you, especially with the price :D, but the rigs I've seen with them it didn't look like 37"s to me at all.

i waited a loooooooooooooooong time for a crawl box, and it actually never arrived; so I moved on - hence the reason why I ended up with an atlas. Hope your luck will be better than mine

All the guys I've seen with them, say they run big. Older batches I guess were small. Now they measure out to basically 37.9. Either way, the sale was crazy and I couldn't pass it up

I think it's the bias ply's that run small

Ahhh..ok that's probably true. Sorry about that! I may have seen more of the bias ply type

So I have parts for my sas starting to pile up in the garage, wanted to ask if you have any issues with running the fror Tacoma brake kit with the ifs hubs. I know the ifs hubs from pre 95 need to be turned down and will widen the axle wms by a bit over 3"... have you had any issues with your trunion bearings with the extra leverage mounting the wheel surface further out?
I already have the tundra 231 calipers and rotors so it would be nice to re-use these and have the better braking. However the ability to go with a chromo hub assembly for strength is appealing, the problem is I don't have any comparison on braking performance running the ifs calipers and lc vented rotors vs what I have now.
The extra width is not a concern, I will be ordering a diamond housing for the hp 8 I have, however what inrun on the outers will obviously determine what I order.

    Any insight is appreciated.

I've got no issues the front range brake kit. In fact I love it, makes maintenance so much easier. I think what really puts stress on things is super offset wheels. I had wheels that were 2.5" backspacing and I had leaky inner seals non stop after changing them twice (also shitty TG seals). Changed over to 4.5" backspaced wheels and Marlin seals and haven't had any issues. But I believe with the diamond you plan on running they only use inner seals.

Thanks for the insight. I'm picking up a complete front housing/ assembly from an 85 for $400 to salvage the balls, knuckles, locking hubs etc... going this route adds hubs back to the search list but atleast it checks off calipers and rotors!
Pulling the hub assembly off as a chunk is very appealing and makes for less greasy endevour for sure.
Again, great build and thanks for the tip on the wheels.

Finally threw the chevy 63s under the truck last night, still some more to do but the improvement is unbelievable.

    Nice!

Pretty soon you gonna have more flex in the rear than the front :D

Please post updates later about their performance. People seem to have mixed reviews with those. They are either too soft or too stiff seems like. A local guy ended up building his chevy 63" leaf packs with leafs from different year Chevy trucks (different spring rates), and that's how he eventually came up with a hybrid pack that gave him the best of both worlds. What year truck did you source yours from?

also..with some persuasion you would fit 40"s in there. Do it!

Truck looks great flexing that way!

I will definitely keep this thread updated with how they do, I can't remember what year I got them from.

I read so much stuff about 63s and I figured I'd like almost half of all Toyota guys run them, why not follow the herd?

I was gonna keep it a secret (not like anyone gives a shit anyway haha) but I'm getting some 38x13.5x17 falkens mounted up tomorrow to hold me over till the PBRs show up

I didn't see the post where you were having issues, but that may be my issue also. I had a caliper start pissing brake fluid from the piston my last wheeling trip. What size (thickness) washer did you use?

... just typical washer thickness, maybe a 1/16th each.
PS & DS were different though, I just kept adding until each caliper was centered.

Gonna sell the 37 MTRs that are on the truck right now, for very cheap lol.

Gonna get a set of beadlocks and decide which set of tires I want to daily with and Eich ones to throw the beadlocks on, so I can have dedicated crawling tires and some dd/light off-road tires

I have some friends that have pbrs and one of them used.to daily drive the truck, and he said those are the loudest tire hes ever driven on. He said they are like bogger loud and would wear ear plugs on long road trips. So i would mount those to the beadlocks and use them for wheeling.

Had no idea Falken offered that size, that's pretty cool. Just a couple more inches until you get to 40"s. You will eventually...most people do anyway :D

I will be following your updates about the 63"s.

They are only offered to race teams I guess, they are a radial tire but the compound is a bit softer than a normal street tire. But no where near as soft as a bias ply sticky tire.

Got a sweet deal on them so said screw it!

Still no crawlbox. Still waiting to hear from Wyatt
