Desktop v.s. Laptop ?

So my computer just crashed (desktop) its old and been hittin some problems with updates and what not. So in market to buy new computer, what do you think i should, better yet what would you buy DESKTOP or LAPTOP ?
*Laptop- portable, small
*Desktop - big bulky, hold a ton more data, easy to modify and upgrade

 

My vote is laptop. I love the portability and size. I don't need a computer for big things so the laptop is enough power for me. If you are looking for a system with huge memory for doing a lot of tasks at the same time and gaming purposes, go desktop. But if you have simple needs, go laptop. Plus I love to sit on the couch comfortably and use it rather than sitting in an office chair

 

Laptop. They are a bit more expensive, but quite practical. Portable, you don't need a computer desk for a setup. If you need more room for data, get a external drive with networking capabilties that links up with your home wireless network. If you don't have a wireless network in the home, get a router and set it up.

 

If your looking for raw power and performance desktop is the way to go.

If your looking for portability, then a laptop.

I'd choose laptop because it's portable. Maybe you can get an external hard drive for extra storage? I don't do anything like create things or use any special programs to do things. I just surf the net and other things that don't take up or need too much space.

 

I just recently bought a Dell Studio XPS 13 inch and i love it, but it was pricey and I got it so soon that the bugs werent worked out until recently. Best laptop i have ever had though and I am a hardcore computer geek.

If you go desktop build it yourself. Very simple and you dont have to deal with proprietary shit.

 

I use a desktop at home and a netbook for taking notes in class.

Buy the laptop. Keep your monitor, keyboard, and mouse from your old PC. That way when you want to really get down to do some work your not stuck with an iddy biddy monitor to work off of. In the mean time, if you have wireless you can be sitting watching the boob tube, and surfing the net replying to polls.

I have one of each. I'm primarily on my macbook pro (laptop). I pretty much only use my desktop for HD video from my camcorder.
