Oh yeah, I get that for sure. I see people that drive trucks that would'nt put more than a sack of mulch in the back.

"But I could if I wanted to" they say. Lol

BTW whatever Ranger we get won't share the same cladding as the global Ranger. I can tell you that right now. The ones underwraps in Michigan don't have smooth angles. Expect a miniature F series truck.

With the price points midsize trucks are being sold at (in comparison to other vehicle options in the same price range) they're an attractive option, particularly with economy improvements. No surprise at all the market is shifting and the designs are as well, making them more appealing to the average sedan driver who's looking to impress the neighbors or have a spot for his golf clubs.

You know, the mid-size trucks of the past didn't look like the full-size trucks of the same years.

Why are these companies making little trucks that look EXACTLY like the full-size. This is weird to me.

Yup Accords are selling for 22-27K

Tacoma are selling for 25-29K (non BRO Tacomas).

    Agree 100% with you

With all the love for CUV, and sitting higher, I see lots of people in Trucks now that wouldn't have been in them before. My co worker who daily drives an Aston Rapide, and never owned a truck, just bought a $62K GMC 1500. Now our Century City underground lot has 2 trucks lowering the property and societal value. My Pro and his 1500 :D

I don't know D, these trucks are getting awfully close to just owning a full size one! (Price wise)

Brand recognition. Companies couldn't afford to make all their vehicles in the past look similar. Now it's simple with modern manufacturing techniques. It doesn't cost them anything and it promotes the brand.

Yup. The wife decided on going with either a 4Runner or an F150 last time we bought a new vehicle after the test drives. Price pushed her into a truck and she's very happy with it.

With talk of raising import duties on vehicles made in Mexico, perhaps people are buying now, rather than waiting to see if there is a price hike down the road?

Well, let's take Tacoma out of the equation. It's the number one rated mid size, the price is WAY over inflated.

They're not competing with full size trucks in price anymore.

Average American consumer isn't smart enough to see that far ahead. They live their lives week to week.

Ford makes, and will continue to make, all of their trucks in the USA. Only GM, Dodge, and Toyota are fucked if those tariffs actually happen.

If it happens Ford will take 50% market share for the first year. They already make their trucks, engines, and transmissions in the USA. No one else does. Most at best make about 50/50 USA and Mexico.

I'll say Ford is the one true manufacture I would get behind about "American companies". It's unfortunate that only two vehicles they've ever got me to look twice at are the lightning and this new raptor.
