i have a ifs skid plate from all pro that i just installed today
do i have to remove the cross bars to install it or just get longer bolts with a sleeve to mount to front crossmember
here are some pics of it.....the shiny bolts are the ones i could not get to line up..all 4 other bolts installed

YES, remove those crossbars and use the original bolts. Then either keep the old skid/xbars, or better yet, sell them!

The way you have it now robs you of ground clearance (if you were to use longer bolts) and just plain "looks odd."

Good luck - I like my AP skid!

those cross bars are what the stock skids bolt to....why, i have no idea. once u remove those bars, u should be able to bolt the front to the crossmember and then have the other 2 bolts for the middle 2 holes

the AP mounts at 6 places...2 in the front under the radiator crossmember, 2 about midway the skid, and 2 towards the back. i havent touched mine in about 1 1/2 years, so the exact details are kinda sketchy

Remove them they're for the stock skid plate.

If you have a differential drop greater than an 1'', the skid will be tight up against your differential unless you make spacers for it.

Interesting problem on my install today....

I installed the skid but the last two holes on the skid (toward the rear of the truck) are about an 1 1/2" away from the holes they bolt up to. Does this sound right? Did I do something wrong on the install?

Best pic I could take with my phone unfortunately....

    Did I install it wrong?

As mentioned, the rear two bolt locations don't touch the skid plate. The plate is about 1 1/2" off of the bolt on location.
