    Sounds hydraulic.

Had the same issues. Ended up being the master cylinder.

Looks like an Aisin master and slave are only $60 on Rock Auto. I'll probably replace them and do the clutch spring mod at the same time.

Well I'm a day early cause its not something I've done today. But I'm leaving at 5am tomorrow morning to finally pickup a camper top. Not 100% what I've had in mind, but after thinking about it, I think the higher top will be nicer since I hope to use it to actually camp in occasionally. 00d0d_l3xnJFbMoCq_600x450.jpg
Besides, its a Leer for $275 so if I don't like it, I'm sure I can sell it and make some money

I can't find the picture I took of the packaging but I'm pretty sure this is it:

Have you guys ever bled the clutch fluid? I did mine over the summer and it freed up the pedal.

I tried that when I was having my issues.

The master cylinder however was just dying a quick death.

Just did a fuck ton of reading in this thread, only halfway through.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/clutch-squeak-linear-spring-swap-tw-how-to.159429/page-5

One thing I noted was that my CC doesn't engage sometimes either, the CC light goes on but won't let me set a speed. Had no idea this was a potential symptom. Gonna get that spring from a local Toyota dealership and try that first.

That was the straw on my back. If I wanted to use CC I had to put my left foot behind the pedal and hold it in its upright position to keep the CC switch engaged.

Plus that god awful noise the torsion spring made made me want to jab my eardrums with sewing needles.

Would be nice if it's only a simple spring swap, and don't need the master and slave. I mean I've got 220k on the truck so the master and slave don't owe me anything, but I rather not need to replace more shit lol

Agreed. Mine has a water leak and even that puts out a brighter output.

When my torsion spring was at my breaking point, it didn't return the pedal all the way up by mere millimeters. Not halfway down... or having it get stuck all the way down.

    That sounds like hydraulics.

It doesn't get stuck all the way down, only halfway up. Almost like I just needed to pull it from the halfway point back up and it works as normal. Never gets stuck down even if I push from the halfway point, just resets to the halfway point. But if I pull it back to normal resting position (top) and push it all the way down, it returns as normal.

Ah gotcha. Think I have your issue confused with someone else who chimed in on your post with their issue.

    Hopefully it's just a $2.50 spring for you :)
