I'm thinking of trading my 2015 DR5 for a 2017.I've also been thinking of going from the SR5 V6 to an SR I4 manual. Has anyone went from having all or most of the bells and whistles to just a basic truck?Price wise seems like a no brainer to me. But has anyone done this and the was sorry not having all the extras?

    My first question is why?

I always buy my vehicles fully loaded, better resale and I don't have to worry about missing something. Eventually they all turn into coal trucks whether they have heated seats or not.

Sounds like a crap deal. Best start eating more to make up for that lost weight.

Had an '08 DCSB SR5 and tried a '15 AC w/ the 4 cylinder. Missed the interior room more than anything.

I love the SR truck. So honest

However don't get the non grey or non black

Because that big black bumper looks horrendous on white and red

    Good luck

Probably cause OP wants a new toy, but doesn't want to pay for it, and would like other people to justify the "financial gainz" of getting an I4 so that he's content in making the right "wants" decision. Total speculation on my part :).

I had a frontier years ago and tried justifying the low payments due to the I4 and I'll never do that again. I don't think I could ever own another truck that's not at least a V6.

I did. Went from a 2015 TRD sport to a 2016 sr5, was honest with myself on what I actually needed from my truck and the new sports are fugly, too much going on upfront, valence, color matched underbite, chrome grill, and big ass scoop, just too much going on.

Drove a 2004 SR5 V6 prerunner with manual windows and locks for 12 years before buying my 16. Absolutely loved that truck. Of course, I knew nothing about TW or I would have hated it.
