so this came on tonight at 38 degrees. Seems like something like this would come on little closer to the freezing mark. Anyone seen this indicator before is there a seperate one once at freezing? IMG_0397.jpg

I have seen that one as well. I believe that it is warning of possible ice on the road. I haven't confirmed this, but it makes sense to me, since black ice can hit you out of nowhere.

No big deal, it just comes on when you get down to a certain temperature. I'd be more concerned about the one that says Ratt. That may have serious social implications. :rockband::headbang:

I was in Colorado and had rented a Kia Sorento, it gave the same warning at 39°.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
All 4 of my vehicles do the exact same thing around this temp. Hyundai, Toyota, Ford and Subaru. Just a possible ice warning. And no, there is no "other" indicator when the temp gets closer to freezing.

The reasoning behind this is something about bridges and overpasses freezing at 37 degrees due to wind underneath when the rest of the roads are fine, I think. It's just the maximum safe temp for them to warn you about freezing conditions.

How many people are calling their dealers or corporate right now complaining that their truck is a lemon because this doesn't work on their truck?

Whenever you would like it too. It's manual. Gasp! Of all the nonsense.

If I'm wrong, shame on me.

And certainly Cali has places that do get that cold. Maybe no where you are, but it happens. Even due E of LA, a friendly place called 29 Palms, sees a few nights of freeze a year.
