Personally, I would get a 2004 Forester XT like this:

    image.jpg

    Install this:

    image.jpg

Get this wheel and tire combo (black walls out though):

    image.jpg

Stick one of these on the roof:

    image.jpg

And put a KQED sticker on the back.

Then enjoy your 5 second 0-60 super sleeper. I would race every Mustang, Camaro, or Charger that I saw.

Or leave it stock. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

I've been thinking about this for a while now....

They're small. But with a single child occupant should be just fine.

Our minivan is awd and its kinda fast since all the power gets to the wheels. Closest thing to a sports car I get to drive. That 3.5 liter minivan/ 3rd gen Tacoma engine is pretty spunky ;)

We will drag our asses up there one of these days and do some hiking. You and the family should join. Don't worry, we'll bring beer for hydration.

    Would.

St Helena is a nice view. Easy hiking but 10 miles or so IIRC.

I love mine. So far it's solid even though there's a lot of people complaining about the current engine in the STi. My best experience is with the dealer. Took it in for an oil change last go around and told them about a slow leak in the front passenger tire. I checked it out and couldn't find a leak and told them. They took the car back for the oil change and found a small hole in the tire. They pulled the wheel and tire, patched the tire as well as did the oil change. Brought the car out and I went to pay and they told me it was good, no charge. Kinda sold on them after that.

Depends on what you're looking at. Subaru's are solid cars and I've had great experiences with the dealers so that's my experience. YMMV though

Thank you for that. Leaning towards a 2014 Impreza wagon, just need something dependable with a tiny bit of fun. Maybe I'll splurge and go for the WRX, depends how frisky I feel. With my record, an STI just spells trouble. Appreciate the feedback!
