    @Overlanerd good luck finding a fozzie XT 5spd that doesn't look like 8 episodes of fast and furious fucked all over it...

    I was all over that plan a few years back, but gave up after the millionth "STI swapped, slammed on Konigs, Cobb tuned blah blah blah blah oh and salvage title and rebuild on motor derpa derp".

    I turned to hunting down old lesbians in the Berkeley hills and begging them to sell me their XT's. Never happened :(

    Oh and Mom drives a 07 Impreza 5mt, head gasket dumped at 70k and clutch at 100, but otherwise good. MIL drives a 03 Impreza Sport with 50k original miles, loves it, no issues. FIL drives a 14 Outback. Loves it. And none of them are Lesbians.

    She likes smaller cars. I don't think it is big enough for the next decade of crap, or longer road trips on which we don't' take the truck (which is just goign to get worse and worse mileage :cookiemonster:). Plus the CVT in that one is kinda weird and makes it take off kinda punchy/jerky when you give it hardly any right pedal, like in a crowded parking lot. It comes in a manual (which my wife wants), but we've not been able to drive one yet, and it gets mixed reviews on Subie forums. It has the smaller boxer in it. And it feels cheap inside. I was more impressed by the Outback in every regard, it has the larger 4 cyl boxer, too. I've heard the 6 cyl and the hybrids aren't worth it for the price.

    Have you guys looked at anything else?

    We have a TDI that we will be selling back shortly. It is my wife's car. We looked at the Crosstek and the Outback and felt they were to small. I'm 6'1" she is 5'11". She ended up liking the Exploder. Much more room than the carpet munching vehicles.

    yeah, same old same old. ALWAYS avoid the eff out of car thats been slammed, tweaked, tuned, modded, as its also likely had the piss driven out of it. ran into the same thing (again) when I was shopping for a mid 90s Mercedes 500SL a couple years ago... the more modded, the likely it was ridden hard and put away wet. gave up, any cherry well maintained cars were more expensive than I was ready to spend. many were more expensive AND not cherry. and ANY that had performance suspension mods, fancy wheels, etc also had beat up ball joints, swing arm bushings, transmissions, differentials, etc.

    re: Explorer, my wife just got back from a business trip to Portland, she had shuttle duty for a full load of international coworkers (mostly UK and Indian, none wanted to drive in the USA)... Rental company tried to stick her in some Nissan SUV that she said was awful (she couldn't adjust the driver seat to see over the hood and the rear visibility was awful, huge blind spots, AND it barerly squeezed the 7 passengers she needed), so she brought it back, complained like hell, and was given a 2016 Explorer, which was huge by her standards, but fit everyone, drove great, and was very comfortable. She tells me she was very impressed, and I know she's not easily impressed. However, parallel parking it was awful :D Her daily driver at home is a 1994 Mercedes E320 wagon, which turns on a dime and has great 360 degree visibility, and rides like a sporty limo.

    What's wrong with Trane????

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    It could, actually! But the one I want is slightly larger than a shoebox.

    If I needed a DD, that's exactly what I'd be looking for. But I have a company vehicle so it doesn't make sense. It's priced less than the stupid furnace tho... Which according to Mike is a POS. Seriously, what's wrong with Trane?

    Her brother drives one every day for work. When we did the test drive she drove it. I did not at all since I will not be driving it that much. She did have to adjust the seat higher. she felt she was sitting to low. The front seats go back farther than we need. Nice stock stereo with nav and usb ports for phone. I liked it. More room than we need for seating. Plenty of room when all the rear seats are folded down.

    $$$$$ when it comes to parts. Most tranes that I come across don't use the typical parts found in other hvac brands. They are built very well and are efficient as fuck. Just hope you don't lose a control board.

    That's good to hear. 10 year warranty. Hopefully I'll be in a different house, with a bigger garage, by then and won't have to deal with repair costs.
