I agree! Toyota needs to remember how they got to where they are today...building a quality product. They need to take care of their customers that remember the days when a Toyota was made with adequate rust protection and had very few problems. Hopefully they will come out of this a better company and put quality back in it's place. I still believe Toyota is one of the best manufacturers out there... GM can kiss my ass!

I would never buy any GM vehicle. As previous owner 1996 pontiac sunfire, 2003 Blazer 4x4, and 2007 Trailblazer. All of them value are sucks and problems too many time. I used to own Subaru Legacy and Toyota Camry, they all have good value and few problems. I would like to buy America but not GM. Never try with Ford, or Dodge. I did my homework and notice Toyota and Honda hold better value.

With a "Made in Texas" sticker on your Tacoma, will it still be considered to be made in another country or is it American??

    It is Texas!!

The GM and Ford/ Dodge crowd will argue with you til they run out of breath that even tho it's made in America it's not an American vehicle..

Actually, Dialmer Chrysler was foreign owned too.

Funny that Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, BWM, MB can build plants here and make it.

They stay away from unions or at the very least have better contracts.

    Too few to list.
It is very good marketing. I asked one lady at work today because I thought she bought a new Prius (she drives a camry) and she said she still drives the Camry but if she bought a new car she would not buy a Toyota and asked if I heard about the recalls. I'm sure this is what GM is trying to prey on.

BTW, I never had a problem with the LS1, 5.3 and the 4.3 when I owned them.

Does anyone remember the 1970's? Exploding Pintos? Or the saddle bag gas tanks on Chevy half tons?

Nobody will remember the Toyota gas pedal either.

I couldn't have said it any better, kudos to you. Making a better product is what got Toyota to where it is today, and that's why I bought one. It's not a hard model - build a superior product and the market will figure it out. When the domestics are better, I'll buy them, and I hope that's the case sooner rather than later.

Remember all of the media attention Ford got 10 years ago about the Explorer roll overs. Well, that year they sold more Explorers than any year in its production run. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Toyota will take a short term hit, but will be fine in the end. JMO.

^^^ I actually knew a guy who lost his left arm when his explorer's tire blew out while he was driving and it rolled over on his arm (b/c it was out the window while he was driving).

    i'll be straight up honest

if i was on the board of a major auto manufacturer...and i was essentially getting my ass kicked by another company...id do EVERYTHING within my legal boundaries to catch back up...or kick them while theyre down...or whatever you want to call this

this is the beauty of commerce

competition between companies equals better products and better prices for the consumer...in theory at least

True, but the Americans are using incentives to make up for a lack of quality. That is why they will fail, because the give away the farm to sell an inferior product.

Quite honestly, I don't really like most Toyotas, I find them bland and boring but one cannot deny the reliability (with a few exceptions ofcourse).
