I bought my 08 new and she has almost 180k on her. I've done most of the maintenance myself. Multiple brakes, oil and filters, cv axles, shocks and springs, etc. But with that being said I drive 100 miles round trip to work everyday sometimes in harsh conditions. I hunt and fish quite a bit and I've taken my truck in some places that I never intended to go. What I'm really trying to say is I'm not at all easy on the old girl, I drive her hard and put her up wet. I can honestly say my truck hasn't lost any power and hasn't had an major issues at all. This is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned and when it comes time for a new truck a Tacoma will be right at the top of the list.

@Justinlhc The thing about my trade in is the clear coat is coming off everywhere, it needs new rear brake pads & rotors, & a new AC compressor. The dealership that offered me what I owe on it didn't even look at my car, but they are also trying to sell me the Tacoma with frame damage.

It's a short bed, and I bought it from a dealer.Looked around for 6 months before I found 1 at a decent price. Three other people trying to buy it when I got there.

If you plan on maintaining the Tacoma better than the Civic :p and you plan on keeping it for a long time(no seriously) than I'd say go for the 175k because that's the truck you want.

I bought my 05 which is almost identical to the one you posted except it's 2wd with 119k for $14,999. I wasn't nervous about the miles because it had documented service since birth...plus it's a Toyota.

The trailer brake would scare me away from that truck though. That's just me picturing someone towing a 34' toybox for 100k miles without ever servicing it. :bananadead:

    15k seems a little steep

Definitely plan on maintaining the Taco better than the Civic lol. There aren't many service records for 175 K Taco, so that kind of scares me. The truck I really want is a access cab 4x4 with a long bed & 100k-120k miles, but I'm having a really hard time finding one at a decent price. @Justinlhc

The problem with buying from a dealer when it comes to maintenance records, my dealer told me that they get rid of anything left in the truck with the former owners name on it. I had 175,000 miles worth of records and they pitched them all. Many times you will have no idea what maintenance was done unless it was done at the dealer.

Having a brake controller may not be a big deal. I have one mounted in my truck and I tow maybe 3-4 times a year, probably 250 miles total.

$15k might not be too crazy. My guess is my truck would sell for over $20 on a dealer lot, and it's only got 65k fewer miles.

At 175k it's just now Broke In. Probably have another 325k left.

Talkedd with the Toyita Stealership folks and they see Tacos with 500k on them routinely.

    Just sayin
