My dad bought a new 2010 Toyota Tacoma regular cab 2WD on September 30, 2009. He traded a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 he'd owned since it was new for the Taco. The Taco was technically his truck, but he bought it for two reasons. The first reason was because the Pathfinder was originally supposed to be my vehicle, but by the time I finally decided to get my license, the Pathfinder was 13 years old, had like 113K miles on it, and was really beginning to nickel and dime us at the garage. There was nothing wrong with it whatsoever, it was just old. Basically, my dad wanted me to be driving a new and safer vehicle. The second reason was because he missed having a pickup truck (he's owned no less than 3 since I was born; a 1986 Mazda B2000, a 1992 Dodge Dakota LE, and a 1990 Mazda B2600i 4x4).

Anyway, the Tacoma is technically my dad's, but I've paid for most of the upgrades to it (stereo system, dashcams, etc), and I'm the primary driver of the truck. I also pay for the gas and other stuff.

My Tacoma's life begins on August 31, 2009. On this date, it was manufactured and shipped to Pennsylvania (where my family and I live, and obviously where we bought the truck).

My Taco was first put into dealer inventory offered for sale at Peruzzi Mitsubishi in Quakertown, on September 14, 2009.

    3-4 MILES (September 19, 2009):
On September 19, 2009, my Tacoma was transported to Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield. It got a pre-delivery inspection and state-mandated safety inspection. Brand new vehicles in Pennsylvania are exempt from the required yearly emissions test, and as such get a sticker saying "EXEMPT." At this point in its life, my truck had 3 miles on the odometer, and was driven 1 mile to make sure everything was working good.

    20 MILES (September 30, 2009):
On September 30, when my dad and I first saw the truck on Peruzzi's lot, it had something like 6 miles on the odometer. Carfax's records say that my Taco had 20 miles on the odometer at the time it was sold, so that means we took a long-ass test drive.

October 5, 2009 (no odometer reading shown):
The title was issued on October 5, 2009, and this was when the loan was reported as well. My dad opted to finance the Tacoma instead of paying cash because he got such low interest. The Taco has since been paid off.

    595 MILES (October 23, 2009):
On October 23, 2009, with just 595 miles on the odometer, my truck went into Peruzzi Toyota's service dept. to have the transmission checked. If I remember correctly, the truck would roll even when in park due to some sort of electronic "miscommunication." Peruzzi couldn't "replicate the problem," so he took it to a dealer much closer to our house and they fixed the problem under warranty in one day.

    July 15, 2010:
Registration renewed for the first time.

    7,414 MILES (October 7, 2010):
Passed safety inspection and first emissions test. That's right, the Taco was driven less than 7,420 miles in the first year we owned it. Keep in mind that my mom and dad both had vehicles, and I still had a learner's permit so I couldn't drive by myself yet.

    May 19, 2011:
Not on the Carfax report obviously, but thought I'd include this anyway. I took the driver's test in my Tacoma and passed, finally getting my license! I have no idea why the 2011 registration renewal isn't included in the Carfax. My truck probably only had about 10,000 miles at the time I took the driver's test.

    13,130 MILES (August 31, 2011):
Passed emissions test and safety inspection.

    July 17, 2012:

Registration renewed (No mileage reading listed).

    21,934 MILES (October 26, 2012):
Passed emissions test and safety inspection.

    July 29, 2013:
Registration renewed (No mileage reading listed).

    32,243 MILES (October 31, 2013):
Passed emissions test and safety inspection. Not included in Carfax report, but new BFG tires and Platinum Apex 16-inch rims installed. The truck originally had the basic 15-inch painted steel wheels and too small (in my opinion) Dunlop tires that were starting to dryrot.

    32,372 MILES (November 5, 2013):
    Copy/pasted directly from Carfax:
    Maintenance inspection completed
    Brakes checked
    Steering/suspension checked
    Tire condition and pressure checked

All vehicles 2008 and newer have Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Installing new rims meant getting new sensors and having them programmed to my truck's system. My mechanic tried to do this but his reader didn't work. I tried to book an appointment at my local Toyota dealer, but they were booked solid. For the first time in 4 years, I took my truck back to Peruzzi, and they had my sensors programmed in like 30 minutes.

    35,960 MILES (April 26, 2014):

For some reason, this is the first oil change listed on my truck's Carfax report. I have no idea why, but the owner's manual calls for an oil change every 5,000 miles or 6 months, and I stuck to that.

    August 8, 2014:
Registration renewed (No mileage reading listed).

    40,150 MILES (September 10, 2014):
Passed emissions test and safety inspection.

March 22, 2015 (NOT included in Carfax report for some reason):

Rear-ended at a traffic light. $1,200 damage to my truck and no damage to Highlander that hit me. Only the bumper had to be replaced, and I drove the truck with the minor damage for like 2 months. The repair was so easy that my truck was only in the shop for like 12 hours.

August 5, 2015 (NOT included in Carfax report for some reason):
Rear-ended a 2014 Mustang GT in stop-and-go traffic while going like 10 miles per hour. The Mustang needed a new rear bumper cover and some other stuff but wasn't badly damaged. My truck had a smashed front bumper, a cracked left headlight, a cracked grille, and a bent radiator support. Damage to my truck was like $1,600. I drove my truck for about a month with the damage, and aside from having to hold the damaged headlight in place with a bungee cord, there were no problems. There was no mechanical or structural damage, and everything worked fine. The A/C condenser and radiator were not damaged.

    53,812 MILES (October 20, 2015):
Passed emissions test and safety inspection.

    October 28, 2015:
The well-known "Drunk in the Mercedes" incident. I'll admit that I was horrible at backing up in my earliest days of driving and hit quite a few things with the truck, but nothing was ever damaged and there was no need to involve the insurance company. I had 3 accidents in 2015, and only one of them was my fault. For some reason, only the third accident made it's way into the Carfax report. The Carfax report simply says "Accident Reported" and "Moderate Damage Reported."

    July 11, 2016:
The title and registration were updated when my family moved to a new house. This is where the Carfax report ends as of November 2016.

The truck was most recently inspected in October 2016, at which point it also got an oil change. It had just a little bit over 67,000 miles on the odometer. As of this posting, the current mileage is like 68,500.

I saw a YouTube video of a 1996 4x4 22RE 5-speed with 600K miles. Original clutch, rear diff, and rear brakes supposedly. Also had cold A/C.

A 22RE is not the 2.7. The 2.7 is the 3RZ engine. The 3RZ is a reliable motor. Not as bullet proof as the 22R but still good. I would guess there are thousands of 2.7 engines with more than 250K on the clock. Its not considered high mileage for Toyota engines.

I plan on driving my Tacoma until the wheels fall off. I took my driver's license test in it, and I've been through everything with that truck.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'm at 133,000. I'm going to trade it in at 500K... hopefully for a 2025 4th Gen. Edit: or the frame rots off it. Whichever comes first

I have a hard time believing anyone could put 600k on one clutch...they typically last 100-150k. Still though, 600k on the motor is impressive. I'm sure there are plenty of guys on here with the 2.7 that have 250k and higher, its a bulletproof motor.

Yeah, I have to agree about 600K on one clutch, unless this Tacoma is for business delivery only, so almost 100% of the miles were highway miles.

I had 190k on my 95-1/2 when I sold it. No oil was being burnt and A/C was cold. That thing was bullet proof
