How did you get the coax cable into the cabin? I've checked and seen a couple of drain plugs throughout the cabin but I'm not sure if there is a better way. I've just posted the same question to others to see if I get different answers.

    Nice!

How did you route the coax and enter the cabin, a plug under the passenger seat?

I plan on installing a radio and antenna this weekend and am trying to find out the best way to do route it under the bed and into the cabin.

Also did you wire the radio straight to the battery or are you tapping into power somewhere else?

Ryan, thank you for the help and idea. Here is what we were able to do today. There is an electronics store just a few miles away from me that has the EXACT parts shown in the pics and the other pics are the end result. The microphone attaches in the center console of Bryan's truck and you still have use of the 3 cup holders. Came out pretty SWEET! Thanks again Ryan.:fistbump::cheers::bowdown:

    Happy Wheel'n man!!! :mudding:

Btw, this was done on a 2nd Gen Taco.

@ODNAREM Ron, this is what Bryan and I worked on for his truck this afternoon!!! Came out pretty SWEET!!!

So 18' coax isn't long enough to route the antenna from the tailgate to the engine bay firewall and into the cab. :/. Stay tuned as I explore other options.

I have 18 ft. It was long enough . Routed it from tailgate and went behind the brake light through rear panel under the frame and went up just under the passenger seat through a groomet that's there.

Ended up running it through a grommet behind the drivers seat and running along the door seal trim and that has resulted with plenty of cable.

Agreed. I've got everything in hand now except the antenna and plan to install after the Klassiker. Thanks C4 for getting the mount out here so quickly.

Has anyone tested the ground on this? I'm guessing if SWR ends up way off, that'd be something to test but my multimeter is multi-hours away at the moment.

I tested mine and need to sand the bottom of the mount to establish a better ground.

Thanks for that. Did you get the mount coated or go with bare steel? I went without the coating so hopefully not an issue for me.

    Pretty much stock...
i ordered mine powder coated and plan to sand it down where it makes contact so it has better ground.
    although, a half-wave antenna wouldn't need a ground...

my mounts havent arrived yet, fingers crossed they will arrive today.

I ran a #10 wire from a ring terminal on the mount down to the frame where I dremelled off a bit of paint and screwed a ground with another ring terminal.
