Exactly! I don't give credit for a company, in this case Toyota, for issuing what I would consider a recall (mandatory safety issue) rather I give them credit for otherwise producing reliable vehicles, which they do! Why else would I have a 2016 4Runner, and a '05 Tacoma

What makes me laugh is suggesting Toyota is high on top of the reliability mountain, looking way, way down at other manufacturers such as GM. Which is so far from true in this day and age.

Also suggesting people complaining to get their frames replaced, are somehow getting something they don't deserve from Toyota, is laughable.

Looks like someone is avoiding to truth because "giving credit is hard"

Frame replacements were VOLUNTARY AND not even a mandatory recall. They've been replacing frames long before this class action law suit and the terms of the settlement are to.... do exactly what they've already been doing, so it changed nothing.

Didn't say you can't complain. But purposefully buying a second hand truck at a discount price because it has problems, then turning around and having those problems VOLUNTARILY fixed for free 10 years after the product was built, then complaining you're getting screwed makes you sound like you're LOOKING to be a victim. Probably to rationalize your own actions so that you're only getting who you "deserve"

If you were straight up about coming out on top with your 2005 you'd seem less entitled.

But instead you take the $, take advantage of a used Tacoma with issues, then STILL bitch about being the victim.

Come on now... you're not getting screwed and you know it.

Haha what a joke that was. Any base 4x4 model could perform better than that off road.

My guess is a crew cab diesel will definitely be more than a pro. While the extended cab v6 wpuld be around the price of the pro, maybe less.

Everyone keeps saying how new vehicles are built better than they were years ago, which may be true.

One could also say the gen 1 tacomas had the best build quality and got worse as the newer ones came out.

Same could be said about all auto manufacturers. Reliability for the jeep grand cherokee I'm sure isn't that great now a days. My 2000 grand cherokee with the 4.0 has been great. 205k still running strong.

Easier to work on, less things to break. Would i prefer a newer vehicle over an old one? Absolutely, but that doesn't make it better.

Get your facts straight. My 2004 was NOT covered under the frame recall. Previous owner didn't have the Crc coating applied before the deadline for first gens. Now we all know how effective that coating is. My truck frame was solid when I bought it (talking my 2004 here) but after a few months it started showing its rot. They rust from the inside out, at least mine did. I also know Toyota calls it an extended service campaign. I call it bs, it should be a recall because it is indeed a safety issue. Gm recalled the front cradles on Grand Prix, monte carlos, etc. And they were older models...

I never once bitched about my 2005 that I bought. I actually am very happy with the whole situation, which I started a thread about.

Like I said before, some people have a hard time giving credit where credit is due. No credit is due for a company fixing a massive issue which
    They created!

Would so hard. Toyota stopped making good vehicles in 2005.

Nice to see electronic locking differentials front and rear. Not too many vehicles available with that factory option anymore.
