It's getting harder and harder to troll a good ol butt hurt thread in this forum. Gotta get more imaginative. The days of just posting a photo and saying your truck is ugly won't work.

I think you have to mention the Ridgeline. Does that come in a manual?

When I was 16 and "rowed" a three on the tree 63 ford my weiner grew three inches then shrank two inches when I got my 67 rambler auto. Never recovered.

I can go either way...MT to AT that is, keep your mind out of the gutter. Have had both on many occasions, just depended on my mood and commute at that time. Never had a definitive opinion one way or another, really depended on the vehicle and what I thought was best for drive ability, on and off road. For instance, had a TJ Jeep, wouldn't have anything but a MT, but that is just me. Others I know had AT, but they were pussies :). Kidding of course, for all those young cats.

Traded in the last one, going to start modifying this soon.
Haha, I started off driving stick. Every time I rock crawl, I have to spend ten minutes retraining my left foot not to whomp the brakes when I two-foot my auto Jeep.

I've been driving my 6spd with a severely sprained left ankle for 2 months. Still better than an automatic.

Is it true that you can't get a manual in the SR5 package for the Gen 3s? You have to have high-end trim levels to get a manual with the V6?

I didn't want to spend another whole summer waiting to buy a truck. I had a yaris and there were a bunch of adventures my girlfriend and I wanted to embark on that the teeny car wouldn't have handled. The slush box isn't so bad... it'll be better if I ever get around to regearing in the truck to 4.56.

Make that most of the young drivers in the US don't know how to drive manuals........

Some of us grew up with only manual transmissions to learn on, back then we called them standard transmissions because that was the standard equipment on most entry models of cars and trucks. Autos were considered luxury items like AC, cruise control and power windows.

I've had 2 manual and 3 auto Toyota trucks in 30 years, still have a manual transmission in the sports car so I'm not really missing anything by not having one in the longbed.

Plenty of manuals in Europe and Asia so I wouldn't worry too much about Toyota dropping it in their trucks worldwide. Now US market trucks like the Tacoma, that's a different story.

Boats are just a hole in the water to throw money in.

BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand

Best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

I grew up with boats, worked on boats and docks in the summer, my dad had several. Very familiar with boats and boat owners. I even spent 22 years as an active duty sailor riding ships and now continue to do so in my current profession. I have a very familiar relationship with the water.

    I will never own one.

True, having a MT is probably a great anti-theft device these days

yer making me feel old, man! lol
I'd like to accommodate this attitude, but honestly i find most autos a misery to drive. a manual will always be fun, but most autos are equally miserable. just got my wife a new tiguan with the top level trim, and it's probably worse than the descriptions of the auto problems reported around here (under-geared, hunting for gears, dangerous to commit to passing maneuvers, etc). it's so horrible that I'm selling it with 7k miles and replacing it with a Subaru Crosstrek with a 5MT. no money for misery!

but i certainly understand the long bed thing. too bad about the limited configs..

If the truck was offered in a stick with the configuration I wanted--which was OR + 6ft bed--I would have gotten it for sure.

I do not understand why they will not offer ORAC with a manual or a DCLB manual.
