    ^^ X2 on that! Seriously, Toyota was one of the only companies that didn't need a bailout and they're the ones who took initiative to fix things. Let them do their job!

    I actually think this Recal shit could be a good thing for Toyota. In the last few years, their reliability rattings have been dropping. THIS may force them to step it up, and get back on track.

    i still don't think accelerator pedals are the fix. i believe the problem still lies in software.

    X3! Toyota seems to be doing everything they can to fix the problem. I believe that more of the blame should go to the part maker rather than Toyota.

    Agree... all the way around. What erks me... is that Congress thinks they need to step in and hold Toyota's hand. Trust me.....they've got it. As was said before... they didn't need a bailout. Why? Because they produce a superior product. Second.....has it been that long since the frame rust issue? Yes... it happened. As has happened to half a dozen other car manufacturers. It happens, manufacturing and design is not flawless. BUT.... Toyota stepped up and fixed it, and made SURE their customers were happy. They will do exactly the same thing with the "accelerator malfunction" issue. Just let them do their job and stip trying to micromanage every little thing... gah....Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now :D

    This is nothing new, as far as congress getting involved with an auto manufacture. Back in the "Old days", Ford had an issue in which the Ford Pinto (im dating myself) would burst into flames for no reason. Congress got involved. They have gotten involved in other cases since then. Anytime a vehicle causes a certain amount of propperty damage, injuries, or deaths, they investigate.

    Then why is the problem only with one of the two distributors if both make the part to Toyota's specs? :confused: If what you say is true, shouldn't both of them have issues?

    Too bad for Toyota as they will now have to take time out of fixing the problem and dealing with people that are only in this for the soundbite.
