Texas drivers are worse. I fully understand massholes now after living in Dallas for a few years. Happy to be moving back to NH in a few months!

Honestly on the way back from the trails the moment I entered Massachusetts I immediately felt the need to run idiotic drivers off the road. There was a econo van doing 50 in the far left lane and matching speed with the two cars in the other lanes that I was stuck behind for about 10 minutes until I just went into the middle breakdown lane to pass him. Got cut off as I was hitting the brakes for upcoming traffic and nearly killed a lady and her kid who though shortening my braking distance to 5 feet was okay. 2-3 other incidents occurred that made me reconsider putting my ditch lights on before the end of the season instead of next.

I think RI traffic is pretty tame compared to Mass. Ever been on 93 at rush hour?

Depends. I'd rather be doing 85mph in bumper to bumper than 30.

Then again I live on cape cod. Can't really leave the cape half of the summer unless you donate a week of your life to the bridge gods.

Every year I go to Albany, and 90 is always backed up because of 93. Same happens to 95 too.

I've noticed NY seems to do road work early in the morning rather than when traffic is at its worst. Wish MA and RI would do that.

    Also, not an island.
    False advertising is unacceptable.

Jersey at least honestly advertises their 'highway' as the Garden State Parkway

Well in CT, both 95 and 84 average about 1 exit for every mile if you were to take all of the exits and divide by the total miles. If you want to go across town you take the interstate. Heck, some of the roads put you on the highways and continue off the next off ramp!

Edit: I haven't been on the Gardenstate in a number of years. Do they still have the toll booths close enough that I swear you can see the next one from the previous booth?

NY does a MUCH better job managing construction than MA. I used to work for NYDOT, they put a lot of effort in minimizing the impacts to traffic.
While knocking RI no less. Double whammy!

Would rather tackle RI traffic any day of the week and twice on Sunday than battle Boston traffic. First time driving up through Mass for my wife's college graduation and someone passed me in the breakdown lane I thought I would lose my mind.

Should give you an idea of my opinion of RI, luv.

Honestly, when I rode through there on a bike longer ago than I care to admit I felt like my clutch hand was going to fall off, and that was on a bike with a 13k rev range to play with before you had to seriously consider changing gears. I rode the coastline during the summer, which obviously presents problems. Mostly what I saw was a more expensive, snobbier version of coastal Massachusetts, lol. Most of the cars had wheels that cost more apiece than the entire motorcycle I was riding, haha!

    Booya.

Mass allows you to drive the breakdown lane during rush hour.

    Ha, yep!
Old money doesn't begin to describe it. The bluehairs in the $100,000+ Maybachs and Rolls Royces that I was buzzing past looked offended that a sub-$2000 motorcycle even existed, let alone that I had the temerity to ride one in their neighborhood.
