I kept the stock UCAs and running 275/65/16 KO2s. I'm up only 2.5" and would have purchased aftermarket UCAs if needed but they simply aren't for my application.

Rides like a dream; I'm very impressed. I have ICON AALs and Billys in the rear and removed the overload leaf per advice on this forum. Fantastic guidance and couldn't be happier.

Great looking truck. Digging the black lugnuts. Have Dakars out back and waiting on my Kings, already running 265/75/16s, just wasn't sure about necessity for aftermarket UCA. Thanks for the advice.

Didn't have to do anything except take out the old mounting bushings and it slid back enough

You bet Gary. Unless you crank it past 3" or so the guidance I've seen is they are not needed (though they look badass and give you down travel if you need it). My rig tracks straight, the ride is perfect and alignment guy did a great job.

Regardless, you'll love the Kings. Pricey but damn...buy once, cry once. Post pics!

yea thats what I'm seeing everywhere, the thing just won't move back, I thought maybe a line was stretching or something so I disconnected one of the PS line clamps, still no go. Now its getting cold out and its supposed to be even colder tomorrow. Ive looked all over the thing and the only thing that could be holding it back I think is the actual steering wheel connection. Cant pull either bushing unless I get this thing out, maybe Ill just take the tie rod ends off? they don't even look like they are the problem though.

You shouldn't have to. Are you sure you got all of the bolts out? That's the easy part too, just wait until you start trying to get the bushings out if they are original.

yea, they are all out and clear, starting to think its the lower line (you know the harder one to take off of course). I started taking one of the bushings out so I got a taste of that, if I can just move this thing Ill be golden.

It might be a little different for a 1996 and 2001. I know you said you got them all but did you get the vertical one? It's kind of hard to get to.

yea I got that one, I originally attempted to loosen that bottom thing actually and annihilated it, but yea I got that vertical one too. Took off a lower hose mount thing and still won't move, Im out of ideas, maybe I should just take the whole pump off... Theres some sort of witchcraft holding this thing on there. It is loose, it'll move but only if I really pry at it, it just returns back to where it was. Ive been just prying it back and sticking sockets between the crossmember and rack but I can only get so far doing that..

It was just a pain in the ass getting the bushings out. Much easier putting the split ones back in

Even my bushings came out easy using the c clamp method.

Completed 12 volt shurflo 4008 install today with fabricated heat exchanger to provide me with hot water for showers lol. I need to tie wrap a few wires but it is good to go. I have six feet of hose coiled up under air intake and a quick connect on shower side with hose stored in cab. The switch is located top left of air box. It is in off position, although I failed to close protective cover. Yes I know, I need to clean my compartment since I blew and replaced radiator. I have been busy drinking, eating elk and salmon, installing and following the baja 1000.

Got the rack off enough to get the bushings out, came out relatively easily once the rack was free. Got the D bushing and the middle bushing in but the one on the driver side was giving me issues, it started getting really cold and windy and then it started raining/sleeting so i called it quits. Gonna have to finish it up tomorrow, hopefully it's not too cold... But now it's snowing so idk. (I literally can't stand working in the cold in case you haven't noticed lol)

i found the challenging part was pulling the rack out/off the tabs initially, and putting it back on there.

the bushings came out and went in within minutes
