The BFF thing was a joke.

IIRC they met randomly one day and talked trucks. Bob gave him a TW business card or something and then mahalo registered here and told everybody the story of running into Bob.

Can't believe how quiet it's been in here today. Especially after the last couple days.

I've been dabbling in desert travel for the last decade. DV 3 times (1 in the Scout & 2 with the Tacoma) and plenty of other dusty trails in California. All solo or with the family, but no other vehicles so filter stayed clean. Prior to that, I've wheeled with other folks, but it was low speed in the Sierras. Started going on some TW group runs, in the last year, and definitely saw the need for dust lights and a snorkel. Especially after a really dusty trip @jAndyMendo organized. Cleaned the filter out 2 times In 3 days. We have a NorCal DV trip coming up, so I jumped in on this GB in preparation. So I could really use the snorkel if it's available. If it's not shipped in the next week though, I'm with all ya'll and say fuck this shit- I want my money back. I'll go with an OBA setup, before the trip, and blow out my AFE every night. What a clusterfuck this turned into.

I'm lucky that OK4WD is only 25 minutes from my house. Maybe I should order one and sell this one if I ever get it.

Nice! Since you're on that same DV trip, and will have a snorkel, mind being at the back of the convoy? :cookiemonster:

Seriously tho, I may go the same route as you. It's a gamble. If I order through OK, then get the GB snorkel, it may be tough to sell since the TW marketplace could be flooded with them. If we get refunds, many will go to OK and they could be sold out. Dilemma. Waiting to hear from @tcBob ...

Ok, I have to ask, I saw a truck a couple weeks ago in Socal that had your tag as a license plate...that was you right?

Sounds OK to me, it'll be interesting to compare how dusty the filters get with different set ups.

Not me. Haven't been to SoCal in a few years with the Tacoma. Last time was 2013 when the torsion bar was being replaced on the Flippac. Have since been to Disneyland, but you probably wouldn't recognize our Sienna minivan :anonymous:

Was it OVERLANDER (probably OVRLNDR) or OVERLANERD? I'm considering OVRLNRD for a specialized plate, but would be semi-pissed if someone else already did that.

It was several weeks ago, so my memory on it isn't great, but it looked damn close to your tag, pretty sure it was "OVERLANERD" it was a white lifted second gen with a shell and 33s. I remember I did a double take at the license plate and chuckled.

How many digits max on a license plate, maybe it was abbreviated.

I'm just kidding. Being better equipped shouldn't mean you have to pick up some slack. We'll all just keep rotating the order and keep adequate distances between vehicles. AFAIK, you and @jberry813 will be the only ones with snorkels on this trip. I was "cautiously optimistic" that we would get the snorkels before the trip. Now I'm just cautious.

We'll do the Pepsi challenge (snorkel vs. stock intake) air filter comparisons around the campfire.
