I'm going to truly try to come on the 17th. Working on getting the missus to come.

How much for the Firestones @scottalot ? Trade you some 245s. Lol

    I get 14 when towing 3500#.
Had a great time. Wind ruined outdoors yesterday!

    ...oh you're serious?! :jellydance:

Before shell, I pulled an empty 6x12 v-nose enclosed trailer down to St. Augustine and got just under 8. While down there, put on the camper shell and loaded trailer with about 500lbs. and got about 10 on my way back.

The ramp on the utility trailer is enough to keep me out of OD most times. Pay to play eh?

Will be interesting to see how much everything changes with a regear.

My truck was whistling but I figured it was the cross winds hitting my RTT/bedrack.

Which gears are you going with? I had ECGS install 4.10 gears in my 2012 DCLB in September- love them so far. I ran 285s on my stock gears for about 2-3 months and decided it was unbearable- awkward shifting, felt totally neutered on the interstate, no power. Couldn't accelerate up hills on the interstate, etc.

The 4.10s made a big difference for me. Nice not having to hit OD to get over steeper grades on the interstate. I'm averaging just over 15mpg (combo of city and interstate) according to my calibrated ultraguage. Could get better if I drove slower than 70-75mph on the interstate.

Will run 4.56 gears when I get the lockers installed. I've been trying to put it off as long as possible because the truck sits in the driveway more than anything right now. I think it'll have to happen before spring now that situations are changing (e.g. son getting older).

I was going to go with the 4.10s but it's essentially only one step down from the oem 3.73s. I'm on 285s and not planning on moving up to a larger tire but my truck is pretty heavy as it sits now (worse loaded with cargo) and can only imagine the drag an RTT will add when it's mounted.

Sorry, that was unclear. There's not a button, I just mean the truck doesn't have to redline to climb a steep grade anymore.

Definitely no button. You can feel it drop out of OD before it decides if it needs to downshift or not.

The slightest grade and mine kicks out...overpasses=downshift. :(

I only ask because my first car, a 90' camry v6 had an od button.

I think Matic's first gen has an OD button. It's on the shifter. I kept unknowingly hitting it.
