My 2016 taco is sweet I like the height stance but I would like to lower my stance of the truck .Can Toyota do it for me with out me having to change a whole bunch of parts. Can they take a few leave springs out I have a bad back and sometime with the height of the truck I have to bend my neck to get in my truck or ill hit my head and it hurts my back . If it was a few inches lower I think it may help me . Thanks

Lowering your truck won't change the fact that you have to bend your neck to get in. The physical cab height doesn't change from floor to ceiling. Just a thought.

Well the 2013 I never had a problem with it. Do you think something in the door height has changed? MY 13 was real low and I just never had the problem I think the height plus the tilt to the seat is the cause.

Wouldn't you have to bend your neck / back more to get into a lowered truck?

You can likely source some aftermarket lowering coils for the front and remove a leaf from the rear, but you'll lose some of the already limited load-carrying capacity. You'd need an alignment afterwards as well.

That's what I was thinking too. I am not understanding what is going on here.

I don't know if the door profile is now a little lower on my 2016 then my 2013@dYOLn the lower truck I kind of just leaned back into it . When I have to duck my neck down slouch a little it hurts I'm 6 feet ill tell you I don't think the head room is great I have some tall friends and it can get a little tight especially head room nobody else has to duck down a little to get in the new ones ?

Lowering it will make it more difficult to get in. I don't know the science behind it but it just does. Removing a few leaf springs is a half ass way of doing it. Might lower the truck a little but will make it super bouncy. If anything get shorter springs for the front. Keep in mind it will be a rougher rider since its lower the springs are typically former. For the rear you can get some aftermarket hangers and keep the stock springs. Side note the cab itself has not changed since 2005, don't let the grill update and interior fool you.

@NEWBIETACO I really cant explain it. But I got a bad back and I didn't have to bend like this to get into my truck before. That all I was asking I appreciate the seriouse response back from you thanks

Instead of getting in the truck ass first, stick your head in first and slide in.

I don't think lowering the truck will help with your issues at all. Plus I have a lowered car and I find it much more difficult to get into lowered vehicles then a stock truck.

I open the access cab part as well as the door and just sort of meander my way to the front.

I reclined my seat a tad seems like more room. I also noticed when my mom needs a lift somewhere she sits and then turns and then spins her legs. It is low but nobody has ever said anything. I would like to be able to lower the seat an inch or 2. Also I think the passenger handle helps which is chimped out on the drivers side. I just use the steering wheel. If its still nice after warranty I'll keep it. Nice truck.

@ryanjboutin got any inputs that aren't flaming the OP for his choices? Know you had one for a few years.
