What model do you have phill? When I go to 4wheel campers online the one they show for our short beds sticks out about 6" past the tailgate.

So jealous. I had money on hand to buy one and was getting ready to order it, double checked the specs on it and realized I couldn't fit it in my garage on the truck, was very disappointed.

    Falcon.

IIRC, only made from 2004-2006. It was advertised on CL as a "Finch", which is 10" longer. The Finch has been replaced with the "Swift" which is 6" wider than the Finch, Falcon, and Eagle. Same length as the Finch though. Basically, only the Falcon will work with the standard swingout setups on DCSB's. She's a rare bird...

Totally out of the blue but how do you like it anyways. Id like to travel the back country in the future a little bit and it was recommended to.me to get a pop up camper. I have an access cab and currently am planning on getting a used soft topper and making a sleeping platform with storage for future trips and camping. Since it would be just myself I think I could manage with that but idk maybe I should think about a pop up in the future when I plan on taking intensive log trips :notsure:
Sorry looking for opinions here :goingcrazy:

It's all about preference. If you camp and wheel in cold weather, the FWC is great. Standing up, in the warm comfort of a camper, is totally different than a RTT. Because my wife doesn't like the cold nights, the camper is the only way I could get the family into the wilderness year round.

A FWC will totally change your rig- for better and/or worse. For non-snow camping, a Flippac or Habitat is the way to go without compromising on and off-road performance.

I definately do like the ability to stand up in a camper especially if I'll be in it more than a week. I have a couple things working for me and against me. I'm single & in college so I don't need much space and when I do travel I plan on doing it on my own... unless you know I'm dating a girl equally as crazy as me :der:that wants to travel a little. Also since I'm in college time to travel long distance is very limited, mostly it would be a month long trip at most. Oh and I have a 4 cylinder that gets bad mpg already  so there's that issue..... oh and I'm 2wd :bananadead: although I wouldn't really tackle any challenging trails during travels. Personally I feel like I would get a used Flippac if I could find one that wouldn't destroy my mpgs. I do like rtts but I like the homeliness of a camper all built as one and the ability to reach into the storage below if needed without getting out as an rtt would require.
Sorry to bother you, I'm just a city born college kid who wants to explore outside of california and is incredibility indecisive when it comes to truck mods :anonymous::rofl:

Additional info regarding the timing of his high dollar purchases:

Using my mediocre investigative skills, the superior skills of others and wide open social media access, here is the dates/timeline (+/- 2 days) of @mahaloTaco 's high dollar URD S/C and Fiberglass Fender acquisitions:

Prior to April 20: No Fiberglass Fender Flares and no URD Supercharger installed on his truck.
April 20: started collecting money for 1st group buy
April 29, Friday: Purchased URD Supercharger
May 3, Tuesday: Purchased Fiberglass Fender Flares

Likely the pics of his S/C and glassed out truck was added to the initial post at a later date.

Additional info I just received today from my friends in all the wrong places. LOL.

Subway, you should include this bit of info on that clusterfuck deal:

Between the 2 batches of 50 snorkels, plus the few from the 3rd batch of 50, Max has received around $40,000 of Paypal'd "gifts" because he pushed for payment by Friends and Family to avoid "seller" Paypal charges.

The "gifts" should have to be reported on his income taxes and be taxed, since he is considered to be a retailer/distributor.

... a CRA audit (our version of your IRS) is a major pain in the ass and very time consuming even when everything checks out. I can't imagine the American version, plus having something for them to find.

Really though... a surf shop guy is probably in such a low income tax bracket that the tax on the net income from a snorkel deal or two wouldn't add up to all that much. He wouldn't pay income tax on the full 40k, just his net after cost of goods sold and other expenses (if any). I'm not sure what you Americans have for sales tax laws... but here in Canada he'd be responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax on the full 40k, which is probably more significant than the income tax

He would be responsible for sales tax only for the units he sold in CA. And he would have to be register with the state to remit said sales tax. All of us that purchase from him would/will be responsible for remitting the sales tax to our home states as required by the department of revenue of our state. PA has hit me in the past for use tax on items I purchased out of state that I did not pay sales tax on.
