Found a dented but non rusted bumper for my 97 t a price I couldn't pass up so I pulled the old one, knocked and ground off all the rust then POR-15'd the hitch and inside of the bumper. Not perfect but oh so much better

That's a bummer, wonder why not. I always thought a warm shower would be a nice addition for camping.

Spray the piss out of the back side of that bumper with Fluid Film. The bumpers like the frame rot from the inside out.

FYI there's decent aftermarket one on Amazon where you can use the stock Toyota pads and no one will ever no it's not OG

Just have to get some longer wire is all. where it is now is pretty exposed. wouldnt take much to damage if it was bumped into something

    very bent.

did you jack the tires off the ground? when I did my bushings a couple of months ago I lowered it onto a block under the lower BJ casting (not the nut) and it moved out farr enough very easily without removing the tires or tierod ends.
I had a LOT of trouble with removing the bolt for the vertical bushing... ended up spending a couple hours cutting off the lower nut with sawzall and a dremel and welding a new nut on the top hole instead of the bottom... those bolts are super hard.

use ball joint press to get the bushing out... I did a friends 4 runner with a c-clamp and it took 5x the time and effort.

also worth noting on the factory bushing's the big washer against the frame was welded to the metal center sleeve...
