In theory yes. My guess is KING is marketing to the turd gens since that will be the future.

Who here thinks Bob should buy this set up just to test it out and see if it fits? I Do! :D

Super late to the party but OME 60066l is 404 to 693 mm or 15.9" to 27.2 and valved very similarly to the one they normally offer for the Tacoma. The top stem is a little larger (I'm unsure if it would work without drilling the mount out a little) and the bottom bushing is different but OME can sell you the correct one.

The OME shocks have crazy good travel given their compressed lengths. The front struts for instance have 130mm travel while almost all the extended travel coil overs only have 125mm and the ome have like a 32mm shorter compressed length. I think it's becuase their really simple and don't have a lot of internals.

I just don't think they are of great quality. They are robust but ultimately just beefy normal style shocks. Normal shocks only last about 50k so if you were really beating on them that's not too bad. The advantage of OME is they are cheap to replace, no H
Hassle of sending them in and waiting or swapping components twice if you have a cheap back up. When I get coil overs OME will be my winter kit and I can rebuild them then.

I'm not 100% sure at what point they went bad. But when I took them off at 40ish,000 miles you could turn the shocks side to side and hear the oil sloshing around in it, so def blew the valving apart in them, and the rears wouldn't rebound. I wouldn't say I jumped with them, but I think the Michigan roads killed them, lots of high speed over rough roads.
My last gripe about them is how fast they rust up. First winter and they rusted right up.
But for a full lift bolt in ready to go, you can't beat the price have to say.

haha yes actually. Lots of wire wheeling, primer, and paint. Never ending battle it seems like though

Shocks I did some prototype testing for Rock Krawler coilvers and rear shocks. They are an aluminum body so they dont rust, only thing is the spring obviously is steel so that had some after a winter.

They are coming out with a Tacoma line hopefully in the spring and I'll put them on my new Tacoma.

well with the truck down for another week, i took advantage of the nice weather to finish up some projects on it while its sitting around.

been feeling like the OEM alternator has been having troubles keeping up with my loads, so i previously swapped my power and ground cables to and from the two batteries...finally got around to finishing up the upgrade with a 250A HO alternator and new cables alt-battery and battery-fuse box.

another project i had laying around was a URD 2.85" stealth pulley. been putting it off for a while to see how the OEM performed. well the alternator job finally kicked my butt into action on that job since the SC belt had to come off anyway.

while the SC belt and tensioner was off, i also swapped my SC belt as it was showing signs of wear.

the hardest part of the pulley install was getting the OEM off. lots of torque to break it loose. glad the puller held up...heard bad stories on cheap ones breaking so i grabbed a 5 ton craftsman from sears for the job.
    IMG_2885.jpg

the install had me worried. used some motor oil on the shaft, greased up the install tool, and heated up the pulley with boiling water. the new pulley actually went on without a hitch.
    IMG_2886.jpg

    flush.
    IMG_2887.jpg

to make the jobs easier, i did remove the fan and shroud. also to access the alternator lower bolt and to change the SC belt, the tensioner had to come off
    IMG_2889.jpg

    IMG_2888.jpg

    cracked belt
    IMG_2890.jpg

with that job done it was onto the alternator. worst part was rewiring for the alt-battery and battery-fuse box. the alternator went on easy after the belts were off and SC tensioner out of the way.
    IMG_2891.jpg

    then reinstall belts and tensioner.
    IMG_2892.jpg

finished the wiring and buttoned things back up.
    IMG_2893.jpg

no real feedback to report except the truck didn't burn down and the engine didn't blow up when i ran it for a few minutes :D

now i just need my diff
