Alpental had 9"-11" at the top of chair 2 yesterday. Still early to start waxing the board, but I'm down for a 4wheel adventure with some turns at the end point. Nothing better than earned turns. Too bad I sold my splitboard and snowshoes. I've converted to a slack country type of guy. Love me some old growth tree runs!

Once the season kicks off anyone that doesn't mind some hiking hit me up. Working at snoqualmie for 11yrs I got to know every stash spot or often passed by never to be thought about lines that stay fresh. Only hard part is, once you lead the way, people see your tracks and ruin the lines. Midweek is the best time since lessons and all the yuppies that claim NW gnar shredding, sickrippie freshies, ride typically Friday Saturday and Sunday. I try to avoid any and all ski areas during holidays also. Again, I'd rather get lost on the top of a mountain and tear it up on the way down.

Been just about everywhere in WA, except for mission ridge, 49° and white pass. When I was basically being a ski bum, I contemplated TAY hitting Rainier once a month but adulting and financial responsibility happened, resulting in more money to pay for a season pass no problem, but I found less time to really appreciate the pass. 7 or 8 times pays for a season pass

We go up at least once a year with our best friends. The spot is chosen randomly, usually by majority vote. I can't ski/snowboard due to medical issues. Instead, I bring my crockpot of my homemade chili stew and a giant carafe (the ones usually found in the cheaper hotels) of hot cocoa, my book, laptop, and camera. I like to just chill and relax, watch the people tumble, I mean go down the hillsides. Would love to have a larger group to enjoy this with. And hopefully some offroading after...

My mom used to do similar. She would take me, my brother, and friends up and she would just go sit in the lodge. We'd come in and have hot cocoa and snacks. Was awesome. Once we got a bit older she would just drop us off and go cross country skiing and pick us up at the end of the day.

Least this time its cause of actual large amounts of snowfall. Always find it funny when the pass closes and i look and theres two inches of snow and its closed cause of dumbasses who cant drive in snow.
