You got me beat I never could figure out how to change the light color

Changed rear diff oil. Pretty uneventful. Dropping out the spare is an absolute must IMHO.

 

I was lucky with my google search and found the manual haha. Thanks again man really appreciate it!

 

Google probably would have been a good place for me to start looking not asking my friends who were 2beers ahead of me

Look what I got while I was in TX this weekend! Big ups to @nazlax10 and @Up2NoGood for the help. And big ups to @kgarrett11 as well for the ring.

Now just have to make time to paint the ring black, do the wiring for the lights and BAM, lighted Hilux 4x4 switch mod completed!

 

MAKE time! Lol. Can't wait to see it.

 

LOL. Got to for sure. Hardest part will be taking the radio out, and then making sure I tap the correct wires and do all the stuff that goes along with it. Electrical stuff "freaks me out" for some reason. Still not confident in myself about doing that kind of stuff. Painting the ring is easy. A little "scared" about epoxying it to the trim, as well as the switch to it.

Question for you if you don't mind. Did you make the switch "flush" with the ring, if that makes sense?! Or did you leave a bit of a "lip"?

Want to also make sure I place it on there correctly... I think the H4 is at the top, straight up/on, when the factory switch is in...

 

Let me know how it goes. Definitely a mod in my near future. 4x4 not lighting up pisses me off intensely. Wanna make all things that light up red too... Including gauge cluster as well!

 

That's correct. The H4 is on top and centered factory. Here's a few pictures of mine to give you an idea.

Yup! So looks like you left a little lip on there. I know the ring itself sticks out a bit, but was wondering how you put the switch on there, meaning flush with the ring or not. Looks like you didn't put it flush. Guess I have to think about what I want to do.

 

Yea it's really just personal preference.

I had some old ski racks in the basement. (I have 2 sets of bars and more ski racks if anyone wants those?) I decided to help organize for this upcoming ski season. I bolted the two racks on to a 2x6, rested it on the topper lip, and fastened it to the factory tie downs to keep it from moving. This makes it so the skis won't slide around. I figure I'll add some hooks for ski poles and backpacks and who knows what else. Shoot me an idea if you think of one.

 

Some hipster decided to slam on his brakes because he "thought" someone was pulling out in a 40mph zone with a green light. Well when I went to stop my master cylinder was making and awful sound and it seemed like my truck was never going to stop. Needless to say RAV 4 toast my taco has a 28 dollar piece of plastic broken and 2 bumper clips busted. Fixed my bumper ordered the new part but I still have to get an estimate for insurance. I think my brakes need to be flushed again.

Then I decided to reflectix my shell for privacy for my upcoming 4 state trip!
