Uhhh. Yes. Get a new clamp on that hose, check your torque on those bolts. Pretty sure those are 11 or 12 ft/lbs

 

has anyone install the urd spec headers on there s/c truck? any issues?
thinking bout getting them and the urd y-pipe with my xmas bonus this year.

 

I have the y-pipe....you'll love that. I was thinking of getting those headers but I've heard install is a pain due to a pretty tight fitment.

 

yea i thought i read on here that some one did it without messing with the steering
im a toyota tech so im not worried
i think for sure im gonna get the y-pipe

I know of at least one person that had problems with the sims as well until he put in a spacer (he kept getting a cel) and his passenger side header kept rubbing on the pass side coil bucket.

 

When I'm ready I'm going to go with jba shorties. I'd just like to find a set of cats to have welded on to them to not cut up my manifolds.

 

Ya I saw those but I feel like the welding will kill the cat or just add another joint to fail. Plus the cats are what Rob you.

 

I'm running a Doug Thorley shorty tri y header part#511-y1c on my 02 DC Pre Runner 4cyl and it woke it up and has a nice each note

 

I'll admit I'm still learning when it comes to headers. I can say I haven't heard anyone say they've had problems from welding on their cats....I'd assume if you have a good welder doing the work you should be golden. Cuz I'm in IL, I wanna (should) keep at least 1 pair of the cats on for emissions sake. It'll be my dumb luck that they end up looking and find I don't have any.

 

Ypipe and longtubes prolly gunna rasp a little

 

If u wanna keep em for looks..... run shorties and gut the cats.
u got the OE stamp, no cel, and as long as no sniffer and its not an inclosed shop, ur fine.

 

I have the urd headers, not a terribly huge fan of urd as a company, but the headers had some good gains

 

I already have the urd y-pipe so I lost my rear set of cats....I don't really wanna mess with having sims and having no cats so that's why I reserved the thought of going the shortie/welded cat route.

Edit.....I just realized what you wrote with gutting the cats.....that's a good idea. Again cuz I'm still learning with the header stuff, is this something most people do???

I just downloaded it from my gray matter.... but i wouldnt be surprised if its been done a few thousand times in other applications.

 

Would gutting cats on shorties be the equivalent of long tube headers? Maybe not quite the same airflow, but no restrictions...

 

Doubtful it has the same flow as long tubes, but thats a guess.

My also depend on year of the stock manifolds, didnt toyota change em slightly around 2009?
