He actually sold them directly to the shop but price them to me at like $915, I believe. I remember Bob at the shop telling me that he basically gave him the same price maybe $15 cheaper which was actually surprising to him, that he would give me basically the same price.

Is that including both master install kits?

Also, anyone doing this believe me 4.88 is not too low of gear. Like I posted in the other thread 68 miles per hour I'm at 2000 RPM or pretty damn close to it. Also like I said with a strong headwind or going uphill you still cannot hold 6 gear. I don't think 4.56 would cut it if you have a 285 Tire.

Front and rear total cost. I actually had the quote saved in my phone, it was the parts list but I'm pretty sure I deleted it just a bit ago too get some more space on my phone. But it was everything needed for the shop to do it correctly.

Keep me posted, hope it goes well, if you have it done. Seems nothing has went smoothly for me on my build. Even the cmc, not probably a big deal, but still. :angrygirl:

I'll be having mine done, no question about that. Just not sure when yet because I may hold out for Yukon gears. I just like to have the option and it's possible the price may drop when Nitro no longer has the monopoly.

Yep, you are probably right about that. Competition definitely can bring down the price! If you can tolerate how it drives, not a bad idea!

I don't drive it much, I've owned it 6 months and have 2200 miles on it. I'll do my best to hold out but we'll see what happens. You said you paid $915 for both gear sets and both master install kits however that same package is listed for $1,189 on the JD website. How did you get it so much cheaper?

Just picked my first Tacoma up last week. So far I've just put tint on fronts, 4 strobes on front and back, 7" kenwood components and a 8" JBL micro behind the seat. I'm digging it more than my Silverado

I'll say two things about it. First, there is a slight whistle under acceleration at highway driving speeds as it's pulling air in. I can live with that and I think it sounds kind of cool . Second, when I am at a stop (in a drive-through line, for example) and I let my foot off the brake pedal, I get a slight pop sound as the truck begins to roll forward under a load. This is perhaps crankcase ventilation but I'm not sure. Either way I can live with both sounds.

Seriously? Amber is so easier to see than any other side marker colour. But if I saw a flashing white light, I'd be wth?!
But in the end, its your truck.
