Just chiillin' on my 1st vacation day. I'm going to visit an organization that helps elderly people weatherize/winterize their homes for volunteering. Maine has a high inventory of very old homes and many of those folks are on limited incomes and struggle with staying warm in winter. Just trying to give back. That generation all to often gets forgotten.

My g/f and I enjoy doing these things together. We both know enough about homes/building....where we can be of assistance.

32 right now....cold by your standards but I love it!

Thanks bro! Glad I jumped into this thread. It's a blast with some good/decent people. One of the few threads that hasn't evolved into a shit show.

Heat Pumps must be what's common?

No just some weak ass heating stripps in the air handler. When this one goes we may add some more heat. Heat pumps aren't really worth it in florida. Last winter we used it 4-5 times. It will never save enough in usage to cover the upfront cost.

So those are electric strips that the air passes over?

Those mini split heat pumps are becoming very popular up here. Apparently you can still get heat even with sud-freezing temps.

It's funny....I get hot when it's over 80 (I know, I know....that's nothing for you...lol) and have been considering one for A/C in summer and supplemental heat.
