Just coming back from the shop. They pulled that washer and ground it down so no more creeking. Talk to him about the whining noise from the gears again and he is having me bring it back on the 6th. He's going to take it apart and see if he can figure out the issue.

    See my sig for mods
I really like the T-Rex polished billet grill I installed on my SR5, but I knew I had to make something to bolt on the grill to break it up a little, so I designed up a bolt on custom 1/8” thick aluminum plate to which I will apply 2.2” high x 1.8” wide domed face chrome stick on letters.

The plate will attach to the grill with two ½” diameter spacers that will fit thru the bars on the grill and clamped to the grill with two aluminum clamp plates on the backside of the bars that will bridge across two grill bars. The mounting plate, spacers and clamp plates will be powder coated either flat black or semi gloss black which I haven’t decided on yet, but since only the face of the grill bars are polished an the sides of the bars are flat black, I think satin black will look best.

The mounting plate is 2.98” wide x 14.06” long and it’s the width of 5 of the grill bars. I cut out a piece of cardboard and painted it with satin black spray paint, and after it dried I held it up against he front of the grill to see how the proportions of it looked on the grill, and it’s just the right size with it not being to big or to small, and I think it’s going to look really good once I get it installed on the grill.

I’m going to make up the mounting plate, spacers and lamp plates today as well as a couple of simple aluminum blocks to use for accurately spacing the distance between the letters as well as spacing them vertically on the mounting plate. It also worked out good with the width of the mounting plate as there are an equal number of grill bars on each side of it.

I just ordered the letters this morning and I should get them in 4 or 5 days.

Thank you, I hope it does too. Feel bad to actually have him take that apart again but I really don't think I should have to live with that whining noise. Although other than the noise they are probably fine. Just seems like nothing has went smoothly during this whole time I've had the truck. Constantly have my family saying you shouldn't have done anything to it because nothing I do seems to work out the way it's supposed to for some reason.

Its the same on the access cabs on the 3rd gen cause the 05-17 access cabs don't get the led brake light with the bed light. Only the double cabs do!

That brake light looks good. If purchased, one might consider the Brake Light Pulser ($35: BLP-1) from http://webelectricproducts.com/ in addition. I've got the pulser but with the original upper brake light.

I know everyone here has seen it 1,000 times, but I derped my grill this weekend and I think it looks WAY better.....

I am debating on pulling the emblem off and going from Chrome to Inferno... or just leave it the way it is since eventually it will get replaced by a DB Customz or BAMF grill.
