Glad I'm not a betting man.... Would have put money on La State today. Kinda hate that Alabama won't get a chance to beat Tennessee twice in one season, but whatever. I suppose it's nice to get the opportunity to have a winning record against Florida in the SECC for the first time since 1992.

Oh... My mom's family is full of Kansas fans. (She grew up there.) Consider myself a 2nd hand KU fan myself... so Rock Chalk! Anybody checked on Drifter?

Charlie Strong is out at Texas.

I'm really interested to see how the coaching carousel goes this year

 

Yeah. I'm surprised they haven't announced it yet.

Mack brown was like 25-14 in his last 3 seasons. Charlie strong is 16-20. Best season was 6-7.

Tom Herman was the name at the beginning of the season, but I wouldn't be surprised if they hired Les Miles. He isn't exactly the no nonsense type that they've been going with, but he's a helluva coach.

 

I'm interested to see where Miles and Orgeron end up. I'm thinking a lower tier power 5 team might take a chance on him after what he's done at LSU. I have a hard time seeing him moving back into a coordinator role.

 

Strong is out.

Texas hadn't lost to Kansas since 1938 or something.

 

I hate that Coach O won't stick around a La State. I don't think he's cut out to be a head coach, and I wouldn't mind seeing that kind of guy lead one of the programs in Alabama's division. Plus, he's a lot of fun to listen to.

But... La State got what it deserved on Saturday after how the game-rescheduling went. Now they have two years in a row in Gainesville.

 

But............THE GAME is not meaningless

The stage is now neatly set. Ohio State will host Michigan at the Horseshoe next Saturday (noon ET, ABC), and it’ll be the biggest college football game of this regular season. ESPN’s College GameDay has already announced a special, five-hour edition of its weekly road show, beginning at 7 a.m. ET in Columbus.

The No. 2 Buckeyes and No. 3 Wolverines both won on Saturday, struggling for a while but then pulling away from inferior opponents. Now, the outlook’s pretty simple.

If Ohio State wins, a Playoff spot is on the table, even though No. 8 Penn State beating Michigan State would keep the Buckeyes out of the Big Ten Championship.

If Michigan wins, the Wolverines are guaranteed a spot in the B1G Championship, where they’d be favored to win and lock down a Playoff spot of their own.

 

So I'm thinking Sumlin will probably be done if/when we lose to LSU this Thursday. The argument can be made that they overachieved this year and it's mazzone's first year. It's just hard to see him be allowed to stay with perennial 8 win seasons. IF they do fire him, they'll have a big chance at Herman. They could also go after Miles. I think the bad thing about Miles would be convincing Chief to stay also. He left LSU for a reason, would he really want to go back to working for Miles?

 

You think weather is the only reason this game is not primetime? Seems like a loss in ratings to have at noon ET.

 

I think LSU will suffer with recruiting if Les goes there.....I think the whole SEC will, but Tiger more then anybody else. Lets make it happen!
