Nice truck OP! If you really want to find people to help get unstuck, head out to Pismo/Oceano Dunes. SOOOO many people with their 2wd trucks and street tires getting themselves stuck in the dunes lol.

no apologies necessary, everyone was new at some point. great to see you're actually using your truck for something other than starbucks and grocery runs.

"pinstripes" are those damn scratches that you get when offroading. often trails are narrow and lined with dry bushes that scrap your paint job. not bad scrapes, just the top layer. hard core guys could care less, often claim pinstripes as "character"... but yeah, I got a $40k truck and I'm not ready yet to make her not pretty. lol.

I actually go to Carnegie at least once a month just to engage the whole 4WD system and keep her properly lubed (as per manual)

Yeah I've heard of many people getting stuck there. I'd help out if no one else is around or unwilling to help but if a full sized Diesel V8 4x4 is there, I'll give him dibs on the action. :D

That's not a bad idea and it's only about an hour away. Do you know of any spots on this side of the peninsula? Pacifica and Half Moon Bay should have some land but not sure if they are public.

I am not aware of any offroading that side... you're stuck with first world problems.

Your info says you're from SF Bay Area so I assumed you were from this side of the peninsula. And yes first world problems indeed. :p
