I saw this add on craigslist and e-mailed him. he said he is in Iraq for 2 years and doesnt want to keep the truck in a garage for 2 years.

I did kbb on it and it's $10,000 under.... easy

No way. Even somebody trying to sell it b/c he doesn't want it to sit in the garage wouldn't let it go that cheap.

At the risk of possibly pissing off a guy who is really going to Iraq, say you'd like to come by and see it and see how he responds. If he's legit, he'll let you come buy. If he's not, you'll get a story.

I call BS... I've seen a lot of these ads on Craigslist here in Houston where they have a nice tacoma for something like $4800. I'm not sure what their angle is, but it's very fishy. Tell him you want to see it in person and test drive it. I know he "says" he is in Iraq, but someone has to be able to let you see it. I'd be very skeptical. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

 

its a scam don't waste your time emailing it they probably just want to sell email addresses from people that reply to it

The thing that got me the most was he said the payment would go through ebay and the truck is in new york (so why is he posting in the bay area) and that he found shipping for $600 and he would split it with me, and if i dont like it i can send it back for FREE.

Ha, everyday I see the same ones. I've sent them some emails screwing with them, from my super secret email address of course. One guy claims he's in the air force and will ship it to me if I buy it. Really? I'm sure some people fall for it.

go along with it and string him along. Make him think he's got you and ask for the invoice. Then when he asks you where the payment is tell him to call you directly at 1 800 gofuckyourselfyoumoron

 

wow there are about 3 other ones for the exact same price with the exact same color body style and miles, what a concidence

 

The worst part about that is it's not as unbelievably low as most scam ads. I'd be way more suspicious if it was 8k or less. They're starting to figure it out I guess.
