I worked there for almost 5 years.

 

Crazy & overcrowded huh !!!

 

It takes on a life of its own. I've assisted on quite a few medical calls, that is for certain. Thanksgiving is the biggest holiday there...that and New Years. Seen quite a few celebrities. But I think the biggest is the machines. I've seen sand cars and trucks that are just crazy. In the first part of the video is Oldsmobile Hill. The cars they showed there were pretty much "run of the mill".

 

...the worst part is, in the mornings driving down the road, the overwhelming smell of urine. People piss outside their rv, campers, tents while they are partying at night and when they get up. It can get pretty disgusting.

 

I wish I could only eat once a day not fair!!!

I'm much happier in Yuma. I'm still not far from the dunes, but far enough.

Apparently the Dungeness Crab fishery in the Pacific NW is doing ok.

This is what we're having for our family Thanksgiving dinner. Picked up 10 of these bad boys.

 

Last time I was out there was 8 years ago during New Years and I had a lot of fun .Might get a chance to go out there during New Years weekend in a 2600hp twin turbo sand rail !!

This depends on if I get my knee surgery before or after that time

 

There's a lot of fun to be had there, working the holidays there is a different story. The drags get pretty crazy. Seen a few crashes there too. Keep physical security in mind. Lots of stuff gets ripped off from camps. Let me know if you go. I may swing over and say "Hi". I'm about 35 minutes from Buttercup and about an hour from the North Dunes.

 

Like I mentionrd earlier it all depends on my surgery date but my friend want to try his new sand rail on the China wall

 

good evening everyone! 1 deer all processed and in the freezer. tried to fix the kitchen fawcett but that was a nogo so we went to lowes and got a new one. tomorrow nights project. then cleaning the house for thursday. i'm beginning to understand why people don't care for the hollidays its nothing but more work.

 

As long as there isn't a ton of blow sand out there, but even still, I've seen lessor rigs out there.

 

I liked Yuma... just have no reason to go out there anymore.

What did you get?

 

There's just 4 of us for dinner this year, and those 3 have to work parts of the day. My biggest chore is getting the fryer up to temp and dropping the bird into a hot oil jacuzzi for about 45 minutes.

Tomorrow is my surgical Pre Op in the Ortho dept and I should find out what's going to happen

 

I sometimes wish a few thousand snowbirds share that sentiment.
