    Hey,

I have a 2006 that I bought last year, soon after purchase I was told about the frame replacement recall and brought it in, they replaced the frame back in April. I live in the Charlotte NC area and we don't get a lot of snow, but they do treat the roads with salt and brine. Are the new frames painted or coated better or should I do something before we start getting weather this year ??

    Thanks

I would. That's the last (free) frame you're going to get, would hate to see a brand new one start to get rusty after 1 or 2 winters

Fluid Film is your frames best friend and I would highly recommend you introduces them to each other.

Being from Florida, I'm not used to treating my frames, I've been in NC for 15 years and my Titan or F-250 have not had any rust issues. The Tacoma came from Penn, and I didn't craw under the truck when I bought it, the used car dealership had detailed it really good and hidden some of the rust with black paint. I'm just guessing that the new frames were coated with the correct paint from the factory, but I'll buy some a few cans of Fluid Film and give her a good spray down - thanks for the advice !!

    Fluid Film x 100!

I've done mine since new in BC where we get lots of moisture and the frame still looks new!
