It was more or less meant as a joke.

Because most often what would happen is the Heat Effected Zone would fail which is the area next to the weld which I am sure you know. On a old weathered piece of steel

Which reminds me of when a certain place got a new to them tensile test machine in the excitement to test the machine they sort of neglected to secure the machine to the floor .

When the test piece broke around 120,000 psi the top of the machine put a hole in the 12' ceiling

 

Figured it was a joke. And holy shit about not securing the machine. But who among us have not forgotten details due to excitement.

 

As long as the rain is less than 1 inch per hour, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.

 

If we include ripping the truck apart as part of weld prep, 1 hour prep to 5 minutes welding isn't that far off

12 hours at my job is much better then any time fishing!!!

 

I truly enjoy what I do I look forward to going to work every day.

Granted it has it`s moments then it is never boring

I have not used a alarm in about 8 years just get up at 0300 drink my coffee and go to work.

 

You are one of the lucky ones. I still love my work after all these years. It's the people that ruin it for me now.

 

Morons that are supposed to be professionals, and customers that have no clue wtf is going on but want to be involved....

 

I like my day job and love my part-time one.

I work with one person who has no compression another that only reads at a first grade level

Interesting Customers make it Fun in such a hurry they forget to remove the 500 amp work clamp from the work piece picked it with the crane drug the DC 1000 till they pulled the input cable out of the disconnect .

Another one hooked the water line into the air system I was not there for that one but I heard water was spraying out the plasma torch on the table
