Also got the 1st engine part done and on to the 2nd. Had to run the NF twice today.
Funking wretched eye with arcburn. Worst NF evar!

 

Outbreak Prime completed. Ended up running the Aksis fight 3 times vs doing the whole raid. Some low level guys got some free carries last night. We actually had them jumping off the map when they became empowered just cause we wanted to blow through the wins with their CPs.

Pretty funny stuff but hey, they got gear and LL out if it


Attempted HM and Vosik is an asshole on HM. We came so close a few times but couldn't seal the deal.

Gonna hold of until the holiday to run HM but I at least now have a lot of really cool guys ti run it with.

Ran that NF 3 times this weekend to help people.

I agree. Vosik is IMO the hardest boss in the raid especially on Challenge Mode where you "have" to get him down in 3 rounds or it's a wipe.

As far as the NF goes there is no reason for me to run them. I can get nothing out of the NF that I don't already have so it hasn't been worth doing in a very long time. I get better drops out of Crucible than I ever do out of the NF.

 

Had no choice cause i wanted to finish that Outbreak Prime. Plus i enjoy helping people, even though its the shittiest NF.

Im going to try to help my buddy finish the quest tonight so I can run HM on Thanksgiving.

Oh and I didn't get shit from the 1st few chests on HM because I beat it on Normal before. I really thought HM was separate from NM.

Also, Genisis Chain or OP for primary HM raid? Which is better?

 

That's right. I forgot you had to do the NF as part of the OP quest.

The first few chests aren't tied to either HM or NM. They are just random drops with either a legendary item, some key fragments, and a possible exotic. Once you beat a boss on HM then you will get a few drops off the boss and also get to loot the HM chest (it's the red one).

Genesis Chain or OP is fine for Vosik. I "personally" think the Genesis Chain is better since it has firefly and procs all the time on headshots whereas the OP only procs every so often with the Siva Swarm. Any weapon after Vosik is fine. High impact sniper is useful for the tank that drops on the Siege Engine and is good for taking out the Turrets on Aksis Phase 1. But really any primary is fine after Vosik. Hell, I use the Raid Pulse Rifle on the entire raid so you can really use whatever feels good to you. As long as it is a high level weapon you should be fine. But any weapon with a AoE effect is very useful during Vosik.

 

Buddy I work with said you can get in on Xbox for 30 bucks right now. Probably worth it at that price.

 

I really have no use for it that I can find. Most every game I play is released for each system. I had considered picking one up until I found out Titanfall 2 came out for the PS4 and takes advantage of 4K. I absolutely love the multiplayer in Titanfall. It's been a blast.

I don't know what happened this weekend with Trials. Bungie "supposedly" banned a bunch of people for cheating but we ran into more red bars this weekend than we ever have before in the game. It was so bad yesterday that I unloaded a complete 30 rounds into a dudes head and his health bar barely moved. Played again tonight and the same shit. Only ran into one match tonight where we all were green bar. That match was actually fun as they all had flawless emblems / ornament and we played them all the way and they barely beat us at the end. We had a 3% chance of winning that match and we almost pulled it out. It's obvious those guys didn't need the help of red bars. They were just damn good. But I felt good with the way we played them.

I've never really said much about PvP in Destiny since up until this weekend we haven't had much problem with lag or red bars. Every once in awhile we run across one but it's been very seldom. But this weekend was complete hell. Out of all the matches we ran we only had a few that were on the up and up. The rest at least 2 out of 3 were complete red. Sucks since this was my favorite map to play. I might take a break from Trials for a bit until they can get this fixed. I can honestly say that this is the first time that I truly haven't enjoyed Trials. When you can't kill when you clearly have the headshot with a sniper and have to unload an entire clip only to watch them turn around and one shot you... It's a bit discouraging.

 

I can understand Bungie not running dedicated servers for PvP as it wouldn't be cost effective. That said, if they are going to run a very competitive game mode such as trials then I "personally" think they need to have dedicated servers for that. There would be no way to cheat and those with bad connections would be eliminated and put everyone on an even playing field. Then it truly would be a test of skill.

 

Watched that happen with gjake yesterday when he was doing free carries. I didnt watch all day but i know this particular match the guy was in Australia.

Bungie says they have ways to track DDOS attacks but im not really sure they can get all of them.

Sad when people have to resort to cheating of that magnitude to win games.

 

It was as bad as I've ever seen it this weekend. Like I said I've never really said anything about PvP as it's never really been much of an issue up until this weekend (after the bans). Every once in a while we would run into a bad connection but this weekend was rough. I don't think we were being DDoS'd since we never lost connection but the connections were shit with damn near every group we played so I don't know what is going on? Reporting others is fine but it doesn't take care of the here and now.

 

I didnt see anything on a banhammer but im sure its just like Halo, where its still going to happen. Perhaps there were more people playing since this was the 1st week where it was back to normal ToO?

There could also be more behind it like the last two days invites didn't come through, people get booted with green bar and even my own chat window would say network settings are prevent game chat.

Just wierd shit and maybe its tied to the last MS update. Everything went shitty after that update.

 

The banhammer swung last week from Bungie banning a bunch of cheaters. There was a PSN update also but haven't noticed any abnormal issues. Did have a buddy send me a message last night asking if there were any server issues so I suppose he was having trouble logging in? But I haven't encountered any issues all week.

Here is the article about the bans. Even with the bans it didn't help this weekend and reporting players during the game is kind of a moot point in that moment. Sure they "may" eventually get banned but that does nothing to help at the time of playing. And I'm not saying that they were cheating either. They may very well just had bad connections to the server? Hell, we may have looked red to them who knows? But this weekend for whatever reason was worse than I've ever seen it in the game. We didn't even make it past the 4th round on the two passages we used which is very unusual. With trials being such a high stake game mode I still say that they need dedicated servers for that game mode since only a small amount of players actually play trials.
