Just noticed today when I put the truck in reverse, by the time I've gone 5 feet or less I feel a little pop coming from somewhere in the back.

Anyone know what this is? Most things I come across, someone here has already figured it out.

    Thanks

If your foot is on the brake, the sound is coming from the front.

Can you elaborate on that? I'm not positive if it was on the brake at that point or not. Maybe though.

Tacomas are known for a popping sound made by the front brake pads shifting when you change directions forward and reverse.

Its your lower control arms. Go check the bolts and tighten them up and come back and give us an update. I had the exact same issue and I tired everything before tightening those bolts.

I've had the truck for 6 years without an issue. But, I must admit I changed both front rotors a couple weeks ago. I haven't heard the sound until this morning and this afternoon though.

I'll check the control arms and U joint. This sucks because I just put the truck back on full time duty and the mustang is basically done until spring because I'm still running summer tires..lol. I had the leaf spring recall done and the new rotors and thought I was pretty well set for the winter. :( If you've never driven on summer tires in 35 degree weather with 400+HP you haven't lived.

Something is loose or the pads didn't get any grease on the caliper side - that's what causes brake slap.
