    Ford and Nissan are using the Hankook ATm now. It's sad that Toyota couldn't go with those tires. They are actually a great tire for just about every use in my experience.

    The sport either gets Firestone destination or toyo A30's. Depending on which tires they have available the day it was built.

    I have a sport 4x4, it came with the Toyo's. They are super quiet, and fall into the highway tire category for sure. I'm too cheap to replace new tires, but once they wear out I'm moving to an A\T myself!

    I just bought a new 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 Access Cab in Southern California. The truck was assembled in Texas in January 2016 and I took delivery on 2/12/16. My truck came with the Toyo Open Country A30 tire P265/65R17. Super ride on the asphalt; no off-road yet.

    My Tacoma is a 2013, but it came with new A30's from the dealership. I've put around 12,000 miles on them with very little wear noticeable. I live in northwestern Wyoming and drive a stormy mountain pass each day to work. I'm also an avid camper and fisherman, so i spend a fair share of time off the highway. I have been pleasantly surprised with how well the A30's have handled our fairly nasty winter roads. These tires are also quite quiet on the highway. I will probably still switch out for an A/T tie when these wear out, but they are worth using if they come with your truck.

    That's good to know. I just got my TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB, and am going to be doing a lot of winter driving, all the way up to Canada through All the states in the Rockies north of CO.
    I was thinking of getting a set of Blizzarks before Winter rolls around here and using these as my summer tires. Any one have insights into how these perform in snow and ice compared to a Snow tire?

    Ditto on my 2017 TRD Sport. I have the Toyo A30's. Great highway tire. I am getting BFG KO2's to run in the winter months and will put the A30's back on for summer until they are wore out.

    Just bought a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport and live in Canada eh? Any good reviews on how they handle in snow/ice... will be doing a lot of driving on logging roads etc...

    Why did you get the sport if you're driving logging roads? The TRD OR suspension is a million times better than the sport for this type of driving. The sport suspension will break kidney stones.

    It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
    They came on my '16 sport. So far have 9K on them, and no complaints. Went off-roading with them this past weekend (video on my build thread), aired-down to 25 psi - they did surprisingly well.

    As someone who has had multiple episodes of kidney stones(still have one that's being monitored) I disagree

    As far as tires, not much to add other than that I like them, doesn't say much, I do a lot of highway driving

    2017 TRD Sport 4x4 with the A30s in Southern Ontario (snow belt west of Guelph). Had a bunch of snow fall and ice during the holidays and ending late last week when we started hitting +2-4C temperatures.
    The tires handled well as can be expected for all seasons in the snow and ice in 4x2. When I switched to 4x4 they really surprised me as they confidently handled the giant hills blocking my driveway that the plow operators so lovingly leave us (after we already shoveled) with ease. So much so in fact, I never bothered shoveling out the pile of snow ;) haha

    Bought a 2017 TRD Sport 4x2... put 1500 miles on it and picked up a large screw in rear tire... I bought the hazard protection for the Toyo A30's and the Dealer told me the tire is discontinued. Now I am arguing over them replacing all 4 tires so I have a matching set (screw was too close to sidewall to patch). So far I have no complaints on how the tires handle (HWY only), but super pissed that Toyota has owners over a barrel if they happen to need a replacement.
