TSB Springs - worth it?

Hey how's it going, after reading so much on here about the "rear TSB", and trying to find a thread I decided to just make one and ask, so feel free to throw in your 2 cents. I contacted my Toyota stealership yesterday and they said my truck could get the TSB done no problem. But I've heard that they can mess up your rear suspension, and in some cases it may just not be worth it. So what do you guys think? Is it worth it to get the added payload and limited sag + a suspension boost? Or is the risk of causing a possible problem not worth it? Let me know, Thanks!

 

I would think any possible problems resulting from the TSB being applied would be covered by your dealer. That being said, I just had mine done a while ago and I'm happy with it. Definitely less sag with a heavy load or even just a full back seat. Plus, I got a nice 1" height increase in the rear as well. All the more reason to level the front end!

Had the rear TSB on Springs done last week. Didn't realize how rough the ride had been before. Felt every little bump but thought that was normal for Toyota. Last Toy I owned was a 79 so it had been awhile. Anyway, new springs. Ride is smooth and springs feel progressive over bumps.

so if youve gotten the new rear TSB but left the front alone, does the angle cause any issues?

 

The TSB when, completed properly, includes a full realignment of the front end.

 

Had mine done over a year ago. No regrets.

 

I just bought a 2007 TRD Sport with 37k miles on it. How would I know if this was done? I haven't hauled anything so I don;t know about the bottoming out thing. Ride and how it sits seem fine to me. Not sure I'm even covered to get it done now

 

when you hit a dip really hard and your back end bottoms out you'll know. if it was done already it should be in the carfax report. but because your have more than 36k on your taco your dealership will not do the tsb. the same thing happened to me. your only option is to do an aal or just go with a new leaf pack

 

It's worth it! This is my second tacoma, had I known that the TSB was out there on the first rig I might have kept it. That was one real big reason for getting rid of it, so much sag seemed like i was constanly riding on the bumper. Anyway my $.02

 

It's definitely worth it. Even more so if they are still installing the TRD Bilsteins on the SR5's like they did to my '07. Check to see if your truck is eligible for the shocks too.

 

I take my truck in to have it done Monday. By far, most people who have done it and posted on this forum have had good or nothing to say. Haven't seen too many negative comments.

 

Definitely worth it..besides if the dealership messes it up it's their responsability to fix it.

 

Get it done, just had mine done last month and it did stiffen the ride a little, but it handles so much better with a load it was worth the one day it was in the dealers. Don't haul loads everyday and empty it still rides great. It took me 2 1/2 years of reading posts and going back and forth in my mind before I decided to get it done. Glad I did!!!

just had the TSB done last week on my '10. I don't notice anything different about how the truck rides other than a tad higher in the ass. The dealership was trying to scare me out of it telling me once it's done you can't go back. Are you sure, etc. My advice get it done after all with parts and labor it's a free $1500 dealership install. Although good luck trying to get a appt. in the next few months with all the cars coming in with gas petal problems !!
